For all its high minded intention, Era is basically the same as the mostly white, mostly male spaces that it likes to pretend it is so different from. They have no clue how to be actually inclusive.

My guess is it's probably not a formal deal, which means everyone has both plausible deniability and also it wouldn't be inaccurate to call it an exclusivity deal.

There have been situations where a platform holder covers marketing in some regions or some costs of ports and suddenly the other versions are later.

Even the example tweets provided by the OP are bad evidence. There's like 8-10 posts under every tweet mocking them which really isn't a lot by twitter hate brigade standards and out of those only one of them was a reposted 4chan meme with slurs, the rest just mocking the non existing sales.

Like I'm sure it's not fun to get mocked on the internet, but this game is so out there surely those are exactly the people whose nerve they wanted to pinch, so voila, there you have it. The only miscalculation was that their "modern audience" doesn't exist
