Not sure how the word gross implied I was shocked. It is extremely disingenuous to dismiss this as just people being horny. This industry has a long history of objectifying and sexualising both fictional and real women. The fact that someone hosting this event engages with content like this is what's gross, and unfortunately not at all surprising.

What do you expect them to do? Be good Cristian and not watch porn? The host fucked up by showing it in public, but there's no need to blast them for simply engaging with such content. The content in question is just pornography, and the least harmful type (a digital mod that no human actors are involved).

Yeah they get treated differently that’s the point. Sexualization comes in different forms for men and women. The bodies of the men in street fighter are just as sexualized and unrealistic as the women in the game. They aren’t sexualized the same way for obvious reasons but to me it seems silly to sit here and act like the sexualization of women is the only problem. How many guys do you see walking around looking like Ryu or Leon from Resident evil or Nathan Drake? There can absolutely be an argument that games are too sexualized but to act like only women are getting that treatment inadvertently acknowledges that the men’s bodies are realistic which isn’t true. Body dysmorphia is rampant among men too.

I remember this show from when I was a kid, it was on TV seemingly all the time with reruns. I don't know much about it beyond it's a kind of comedy-drama about surgeons during the Korean War. Does it hold up, is it worth getting into today?

The issue is, the “I need a car” people need a car because their society has not invested at all in public transportation, and the places they live are not designed in any way to be livable without a car.

To try to put this into prospective for some people, back in the 2000s when alot of us used to be Teenagers and young Adults something like this used to just be M-TV Spring break when a massive crowd of teens would be out and about in a single spot to party/gather.

Pretty much every channel was covering it live. Like, it was probably overblown, but people here also don't seem to get that Union Square is usually incredibly crowded already. There's tables set up for shopping, a farmer's market, food stands, old dudes playing chess, random protests, a playground for kids, and a major subway station under it. There's people that make their money at Union Square and this ain't helpful.

The images after it got cleared out is not what that place normally looks like. That said, it probably would have been perfectly fine if they had set up barriers or something beforehand. The city is usually good about managing events like this when they're given notice. The big issue was not telling the city this was going down in advance, it wasn't a riot it was just an unruly crowd that wasn't managed properly and that part was totally the streamer's fault. Nobody needs jail for this, but big influencers need to understand that they gotta let the city know when they're planning shit like this.
