It's actually not indisputable. It's very disputable. If it's so indisputable, on what basis and whose authority? You realize those mass rape claims were and are being used as justification for genocide?

There is more indisputable evidence of systemized mass rape by the Israelis than there is of *any* evidence of mass rape or sexual violence by Hamas on Oct 7th. There was absolutely violence on Oct 7th, but mass sexual violence is a claim that has progressively unraveled as unfounded Based on the preponderance of Israel's lies, the exposing of the lying NGO that was on the scene as first responders, and the retraction of published articles in the west claiming these mass rape allegations, most notably in the New York Times.

And before you cite the UN special report, please quote the full methodology before you cite the passage about mass sexual violence. Some of us have already read through it.

I'm sure everyone handwringing over the acquisition thread was narrowly concerned with job losses at the time and not IP skipping PlayStation.

That aside... this is incredibly sad and an inevitable consequence of consolidation, which is a broader trend in the media industry and not going away unfortunately. This is by no means the clearest indication of this, across the many ABK & Bethesda lay-offs or structural changes and the ongoing Bungie saga, there's just no world where an acquisition will be a net-gain for those employees other than the acquired company in question going completely under if the sale does not take place.

It is also another reminder that the industry is not in good health, with more and more people spending their time and money on fewer and fewer things that are built to retain them indefinitely. These experiences are often free at the point of entry, being more accessible to important demographics which aligned with their excellence as games makes them incredibly sticky. Beyond that development costs go up and up as everyone, developers included, chases a diminishing return of high fidelity which causes traditional gaming experiences to cost more across hardware and software.

It all needs a reset.
