Secondly: Well, I'm German and I keep hoping for the moment where the German media finally acknowledges that Israel is not the good guy in all of this. Tbh, though, yesterday made me lose most of my hope when we had news of Israel attacking UN-blue helmet soldiers and not even that resulted in an outrage over here. It's all so effed up and I'm starting to understand how 1933 came to be. Except back then there was a real danger if you spoke up. Speaking up against Israel in the year 2024 has no life-threatening risks and STILL people keep quiet. We just let it all happen. It's beyond shameful.

I was driving yesterday when I heard our left wing soy public broadcasting radio complain about Israel nearly hitting the UN peacekeepers and the Israelis saying that they should've gotten out of the way.

Israel is basically doing their job for them. We should be focused more on the fact that Hamas members are working for the UNRWA and that all these UN funded areas host terrorists or are used as weapon stashes and not-rape dungeons. The UN sat on their hands as weapons and terrorists poured in. The reality is pretty grim.

I was originally going to make this thread solely about women characters (I've been in a big love mode, I'm in Love with the Villainess is great btw and big ups to Seaneko and Gacha Santa Alter for recommending Kindred Spirits on the Roof); but decided to open it up for the whole community.

For me Cammy would be a massive one for me and I've am well aware that isn't an uncommon want, in fact I know along with Zangief with men that has been an incredibly big want for so many lesbians and wlw for decades, dating back to all the way since at least the Alpha era days (along with her cat obsession which I'm amused Capcom did run with). It's helped that 4, 5 and 6 really seem to hint at it and I just would love her to have some happiness with Juni or whomever she ends up with, given all she's been through, she deserves that love. My biggest worry is that Capcom will always play coy with it not to upset a certain part of the fandom, but please make so many women happy Capcom, please?!?! Also while you're at it, make your LGBTQ+ Resident Evil fans happy and confirm Chris and Claire gay and lesbian, I know so many people who would love that (especially gay men happy about "The arm guy").

Also not an uncommon one, with Tekken, Asuka and Lili, pretty sure I don't really need to explain this one but that would be so amazing! The only thing I'd say though is have Asuka have a "win" over Lili before they admit their feelings, even if it's Lili secretly giving it to her, I think it would be sweet.

Princess Daisy, honestly their isn't anything that deep about that, I just think she'd be amazing as a lesbian or wlw rep for kids to look up to. I think it's important kids to have characters to look up to so they know they aren't weird, their feelings are perfectly normal and their are people who care and love them (aka why I think She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is an amazing cartoon as good as the 80s version I love to death).

And lastly for this OP, Pokémon... I can and have (to the annoyance of friends) forever about Pokémon characters I wish came out and could easily write a 5000 word essay so I'll just list them:
Red and Blue an offical couple (they pretty acted like that in the S/M games anyway)
Erika as a lesbian
Jasmine as a lesbian or bi/pan (especially after Masters hints of her having a crush on Erika)
Whitney as a lesbian (something I feel the games, especially Crystal hinted at)
Maxie and Archie as a former couple (something The Pokemon Company has also heavily implied before):
Steven and Wallace an official gay couple.
Gardenia as wlw (for no other reason because she's my favourite Gym Leader and I would love that)
Elesa and Skyla as an offical couple (something Masters has hinted at, has been heavily speculated and wanted for over a decade now and would make so many wlw fans happy)
N as officially Bi or Pan
Diantha as gay, bi or pan in reference to her visual inspiration.
Plumeria as wlw, mostly because I know a friend would love that.
Guzma and Kukui as exes (I didn't know this was a thing many fans wanted till just recently so lets make fans happy)
Gloria and Marnie to grow up to be a couple.
Sonia and Nessa as an offical couple would also make so many wlw happy

The architecture was oppressive and bleak, the cops were smug assholes, and nobody was aware of the fact that we had to strip naked in front of a cop for them to check us. However, Joe and one of my other friends (the only woman in our group) weren't so lucky. They were separated from us and each other, which is something we didn't find out about until after we were released. Despite being in jail for only 24 hours, it was pretty depressing for all of us. The bathrooms had no privacy, there was no A/C, the food was literal slop, etc. You only had three free calls to your name, where you had to repeat "The United States of America" to the phone to start it. Just dystopian shit. Any other services that involved contact with the outside world required you to *pay*; if you didn't have any family members or friends who knew you were in jail and could give you money, you were fucked. My friends and I were talking about how we became more radicalized. If these are the conditions that people lived in, how could you possibly *not* be for prison abolition? Furthermore, we started talking with the other two inmates who were locked up in the block with us. We didn't ask what they were arrested for, but they were pretty dumbfounded to see that we were arrested for fucking protesting and were genuinely supportive of us.

So noodle soup is shocked to learn..that jail isn't fun and they don't have free internet and cell phones to call everyone you know?

The sad thing is, if noodle and his friends had just apologized and agreed to write that "two page essay about how you can protest without breaking laws*" the university probably would have asked for charges to be dropped.  Instead, criminal conviction, supervision for 18 months, and ongoing suspension for the university.

*Their idiot lawyer claimed that writing such an essay would be self-incrimination..except that's simply not accurate because any essay about legal protests could have made its arguments without commenting on the things they did.

This one barely counts, but: C.J. and Flick from Animal Crossing are clearly written as a couple. They live together, they refer to each other as their "partners," C.J. is always talking about how talented Flick is at crafting the models, etc. They also have a clear couple dynamic, with C.J. being the loud and boisterous one, and Flick being more quiet and introspective. They get more character development than almost any other characters in the game, to be honest.

And then the official strategy guide tries to be like, uh, they meant they're "business" partners! Who also live together! And it's like, please. I don't even consider their relationship to be subtext: like, basically anyone just reading their literal dialogue who didn't know Nintendo's weird hangups with being "family friendly" would see the two characters refer to each other as their partners and talk about how they live together and speak glowingly about each other and assume they were partner partners, not business partners in a weird off-screen business (apparently running the fish and bug festivals? or something?).

Nintendo, just let C.J. and Flick kiss. (The sad thing is, the recent increase in anti-LGBT+ rhetoric probably means they're even less likely to do that in a 2026 game or whatever than they were in 2020. We're going backwards.)
