Trudeau and Starmer already said what the deal is with migration and announced their own plans to limit/reverse the influx of migrants.
While Trudeau said it was managed, Starmer called it a failed social experiment.

Long story short, lots of politicians believed(or were told) that post-COVID they would have a shortage in workers and the economy wouldn't rebound. Early on there were signs this was happening and the thing they feared most was a recession or depression. So they opened their borders to quickly attract new workers and instead of cutting back corporations went on a hiring spree as agreed. Of course this didn't work out as intended as many migrants weren't suitable for the jobs on offer or weren't willing or able to work. Plus all the additional government "build back better" spending and cheap credit for corporations was rocket fuel for inflation. They prevented a recession but created new economic problems and a host of other issues in the process. And none of these governments, the tories, Trudeau, Scholz, Macron, Biden were praised by the public for preventing  post-COVID recession but instead tarred and feathered because of the high prices and the strain on public services and welfare.

So while Trump uses different language he is more or less following the same trajectory as most countries dealing with the fall out of the failed mass migration experiment.
