In 2017, 44% of US adults believed that it was possible for one’s gender to be different from their biological sex, whereas 54% thought that one’s gender could not be different from their sex. In the half-decade that followed, transgender nonprofit funding increased by more than 113%. Yet by 2022, public opinion had moved in the wrong direction, with just 38% of Americans saying that one’s gender can be different from their sex, and 60% saying that being a man or a woman is determined at birth (that figure is 68% today).

Curious that anti-trans propaganda is supposedly super effective while anti-gay propaganda wasn't. Surely it has nothing to do with demanding that trans-women should be send to women prisons and similar outlandish demands

this is completely ignoring the admitted ramp up in anti trans propaganda from the right wing from around 2021 to now.  Republicans/Conservatives are on record as to how they settled on this strategy after gay marriage was legalized.  And this only works because people like you believe the propaganda

This is just a gish-gallop that's really making the argument that if no opposing arguments were allowed then trans approval wouldn't be dropping. Which, duh.

Except that's bad and untenable and not a defense of the pro-trans position on its own merits.

Like this video was just a bad idea. Sure, the joke is that they're subverting what "coming for your children" means but if you ask me activism isn't the place for clever jokes. You need to have a very clear message.

reminds me of the george floyd "defund the police" era that lasted several months

the average person understands "defund the police" as "abolish the police" and nobody wants that, especially those living in poorer disadvantaged areas

there were polls around that time showing that those voiceless people struggling day by day all wanted increased police presence, not brutality obviously, but they wanted the ghetto to be better patrolled and safer, counter to the rich white savior leftist narrative that knew best

"redirect police funding spent on militarizing them toward squads of social workers who are trained in de-escalation" isn't as pithy a slogan, but it's what they all said they meant...but the clearly spoken message didn't convey that at all

I remember it was so forceful that they even extracted a promise from milwaukee leadership to disband their police force and then the local public was like what?? fuck no! and they gave up on that retarded idea
