The Wire is usually cited as being one of the most realistic police shows but sometimes Reno 911! is a better comparison.
On September 18th, 2023, officers were dispatched to a residence following reports of a woman who claimed to be the property owner allegedly harassing a tenant. This is footage of the events that followed.......... 2 users liked this post: Gamegirl Nostalgia, HeavenIsAPlaceOnEarth

I would say that's crazy, but a major celebrity's kid going off the rails is probably commonplace enough.

Quote:Ryan James Wedding, a Canadian citizen residing in Mexico, is a former Olympic snowboarder who participated in the giant slalom snowboarding event for Canada in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. After his snowboarding career, Wedding turned to a life of crime as a transnational narcotics trafficker. ![]() Quote:The U.S. Department of State is offering a REWARD OF UP TO $10 MILLION for information leading to Wedding’s arrest and/or conviction. Wedding is also on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitive List. Fair warning to any of our Mexian members that might think sniching on a Canadian snowboading drug dealer will get them an easy 10 million... He's currently under the protection of the Sinaloa Cartel. Not sure why FBI didn't include that?

This is exactly why I left working in law enforcement. It really is like The Wire—it's all about the numbers, not quality of the work being done.
Larry David once said you shouldn't become friends with a doctor because you'll find out they are just as stupid and crazy as everyone, and you'll lose all respect for the profession. The same goes for government law enforcement. They're same people you went to high school with. The kid who got voted "Biggest Brown Noser" every year? Well, he became Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan. Fact. The underage guy who would get blackout drunk and drive but never got caught? He became a judge. 2 users liked this post: Gamegirl Nostalgia, HeavenIsAPlaceOnEarth

Not to make this thread about them but I would love to know what organizing a certain Atlanta area ACAB activist is planning or even criticism they have for this case in their neck of the woods.

No, what matters is someone with an agenda against technology and AI gets to use the senseless death of a random stranger to make a point to win internet arguments and sell some books.
