Hostages were swapped. I think at this point we can stop using the language that calls kidnapped Palestinians "prisoners/detainees" These kidnapped Palestinians don't get fair trials, it's a farce.

I spent, I don't know, five minutes "investigating" this. It just popped up on my social media feeds.

Totally get what people are saying about the initial effort. If I knew someone had spent hours digging through old streams looking for anything related to collars, then yeah, that's not healthy. I would absolutely believe that people putting in that effort are doing it for other reasons, besides genuine concern over the dog.

But the results are readily available. And some posts in here read like people are saying "Woah, I saw a YouTube short about the dog situation, seems crazy," and the response "Oh, so you're a Zionist then."

I agree that people need to be held accountable, I said that in my original post. It just feels like at this point in time, even considering the entire machine, if your goal is to help the people of Gaza, why are you protesting someone who holds no power? Even as the former VP, the democrats control nothing and there isn't much she could do. Why not just put all that energy into the people who could actually do something? That's why it feels performative because there isn't much that can come of this.

Kamala does have power though. She's a politician with money doing a book tour while people are being disappeared by ICE. She is isolated from the conditions that plague the masses and thus this tour is an overt display of power. I mean, you can't ghostwrite a book and go on tour; you got work to do.

She might not be in the White House, but most people with power will never actually be President so this is moot. Subsequently, this is true for Democrats. Just because they're the minority party right now does not mean that they lack power nor responsibility for the state of things. They're not infants. They're not fucking factory workers in Thailand. They're not even the average American worker. They're politicians. Fundamentally they all play a role in the maintenance of barbaric and wasteful systems and they should be reminded of that at every opportunity.

So 8 months ago I was transferred into a new project at my job. From a very engineer-y and cool device R&D position to an incredibly much more boring Marketing position. I did not want to work on this and I leveraged my great work record to tell my bosses that I wanted out ASAP.



I am assigned to a coworker who was supposed to help me get into the processes and documentation in this new position. She goes on long winded rants on how much harder her work is compared to the peanuts I'm doing rather than properly train me. Most of the time when I asked her to show me how to do something something I'd get a "That's part of the process" or "Check the help video online".



The first 4 months I had to deal with a document that was stuck amid hundreds of changes and a flurry of opinions without me understanding shit about the process. I manage to get to the finish line but not without some feedback on the client saying I feel lost and insecure at times.



I go over it with my boss and he recommends that I find new sources of info rather than my coworker, I do so and I make a game plan....Said gameplan is changed when yet another sudden change is asked. Now we're supposed to consider every single language for the marketing material rather than just english, and that requires connecting with offices all over the world for confirmations.



I go through over 3000 marketing materials and go the extra mile of checking the Spanish ones since I'm bilingual, and I keep reporting there's a potential delay thanks to this new request. Everyone says it's fine. My supervisor says I'm doing great "despite all you've been through" and leaves for vacation.



A week ago I'm asked to leave the project and to pass down the remaining work to my coworker. She sets up a meeting with every single project manager available and proceeds to dress me down as my documents were apparently missing an approval that I had no idea was required and that it will delay the whole thing. She says she's freaking out at just how bad my work is.



During this project I had to face several personal hardships. I've mentioned before how my fiancee had a toxic narcissistic mother...She killed herself in August and our wedding plans were thrown for a loop, My mom's beloved emotional support cat got stolen and she fell into depression...and all that coupled with how much I hated the work itself made me realize I really didn't put my heart in this at all. I was distracted, bored and could've done better.



I'm feeling terrible and wish I could redo things. Now I'm looking like a total slacker despite me really trying to rise above
 the situation..
