Y'know I have spent more time on LiveStreamFail in the past week than I probably ever have on reddit in general.

And I keep thinking about the "LSF is the Kiwifarms of Reddit" style comments on Era--right-wing ziojewnazi blah blah blah...meanwhile, this fucking subreddit looks like something straight from Lionel Hutz' nightmares. You've got every race color creed and gender represented on this fucking page (either dunking on or being dunked on).

I'm not really extolling the virtues of the sub or anything, it's obvious what its purpose is. I'm mostly just amused at the contrast between Era whispering ominously about the conservarzioracists on LSF, and then you go there and it makes the Rainbow Coalition seem homogenous by comparison.

Now people always talk about the incompetence of the Trump administration and how he is losing power and that republicans are starting to turn on him and all of this stuff, but I am a skeptical pessimist which is not helping me at all. I do not know who to believe anymore and I fear of having false hope. Things are just starting to not look good, and I am starting to wonder if I should start finding ways to flee this country somehow. Right now, I am 30 living at home with only like 700 bucks to my name. Countries want the best migrating to their countries and not...people like me, which is understandable, but that dooms me to being stuck living in a dictatorship. I don't know what to do.

We are doing what we can to defend Democracy. I got 4 people to vote yes on California's proposition 50, with the 4th vote being mine. We donate to organizations trying to fight for Democracy but sadly protesting has been a no go. My mom won't go due to fears of a possible shooting at these protests. I tried convincing her, but she won't do it and apparently, she knows a lot of people on Facebook who are also too scared to protest. I never learned how to drive as I see them as death traps and I have like social anxiety, so I am not going if she is not going. She is also scared of me being shot and killed at one of these protests and I don't want to put her though that, but honestly at this point, I am wondering if it's just time to flee at this point.
I feel kind of stupid working on my goals when this is turning into a country that I do not want to live in, so I am not even sure what I am even doing anymore.

Can't move to (where, anyway?) because he's 30 and only has $700.

there was a hateful evil toxic podcast centered around film that I used to listen to which included a gay southerner, a trans brit, a black australian and (worst of all) a welshman, and they had all kinds of guests on from all walks of life, and nobody was ever a dick about anybody's identities, it simply wasn't relevant to discussion

they just express anti-jeff marvel opinions openly, criticizing the writing of disney slop movies, and that was all it took to make them nazis

Nep has some fucking bizarre zero sum notion of how, fuck, basic commerce works, as exemplified by this dumb shit PROFIT = EXPLOITATION take.

Like... if I grow an apple, thats worth a variable price based on how much somebody wants my apple.
Someone allergic to apples values my apple as worth fuck all, somebody desperate for an apple will pay big time for my apple, there is a continuum between nothing (which lets say includes everything up to my personal valuation of how much I reckon it cost me in labour + materials + my own desire to not sell my apple) up to something way more than I 'think' its worth.

But if someone buys my apple at what I consider a fair cost, then travels the fucking country specifically looking for people who will pay over the odds so that they make more than I did, I'm not being fucked over because I didn't go round the fucking country looking for those people, they did.

And if one of those people turns premium apples into delicious apple pie and charges even more over what I think an apple is worth, they are also not fucking me over, because they are also adding additional labour that I didn't fucking do to create a 'profit'.

And if someone then takes those apple pies round the country to find the specific people who will pay way more for those apple pies than average... the fucking cycle continues.

In Nepenthe's carrot-based economy, anyone making money by creating higher order goods from raw materials is taking away opportunity from others and should be stopped, even if those others were never skilled or motivated enough to make those higher order goods in the first place. 

That is why collectives and communism die and get left behind by free market economies. 

If you're advocating for communism any time after 1917, you're a fucking retard.

In a way when we focus on how she's wrong and has no clue about what she's talking about we're the ones missing the point.

Leftist/socialist/whatever it is Nepenthe and Hasan do/etc. "explanations" are not actual attempts to describe material reality or how systems operate, they're moral arguments attempting to stack the deck so you can't reject them.

The purpose of "exploitation" in both Nepenthe and Marx is a blatantly obvious attempt to deny there's any reason to capitalism at all. They have to do this because their central premise is that capitalism is an alien system imposed on humanity by a small conspiracy of elites. You have to analyze the system from the top down or else it challenges the very central premise if you posit that capitalism is not an imposed system but the result of an infinite number of choices by millions to billions of people. That in a "pure form" capitalism is  more of an anti-system, that the "system" exists mostly as a handful at most of premises.

Nepenthe is aping others but they're all aping Marx and Marx's theory of exploitation is a tautology, there's literally no possible way for anyone to not be exploited in every single interaction in life if any single person ever benefits. The "liberation" of socialism achieves the end of exploitation because every single person is always supposedly working for everyone else. You by definition never do anything for yourself, your every action is only for the good of all as decided by all and you simply think of nothing else.

Nepenthe (and Hasan) never grasped the "theory" (and are pretty objectively not smart people) so they don't realize this is the underlying explanation and it's based on premises that are just asserted for the purpose of supplying the explanation with its proof. Which is why their anti-capitalist utopias always involve everyone doing whatever they want for their own benefit. Their main difference from "capitalism" is that this only applies to themselves, everyone else will be tasked with only doing what they want for their benefit too. The offense of capitalism is that people pursue their own interests rather than the interests of the center of the universe that everyone exists for. They never realized that the rhetoric of socialism uses and switches between two different definitions of individuals, in Marx the only "individual" is society but he talks as if individuals still exist and have their own interests but he's only ever talking about society. Lenin and Mao don't do this, instead they just flip back and forth without any concern for making clear if they're talking about actual individuals or society, but they repeat the central premise that all that matters is society and individual choice should not exist. Because society is not an actual thing, an abstract idea, many "midwits" identify it as a personification of themselves. (Similar to what they do with the state.)

The biggest and most obvious tell that Nepenthe doesn't understand what she's talking about is how she pretends there's a "third option" (oof, might one say Third Way? Sounds both fascist and centrist) between capitalism and socialism that fits her criteria everyone else will accept. So she can just do art and get paid for this by everyone else even if they don't want her art. This is just the old complaint of "capitalism for the elite, socialism for everyone else" that is just socialism. The system is a single monopoly controlled by Nepenthe. If this applies to everyone else and they too can just do art and sell it or make food and sell it or make Switches (which she promises will exist) and sell them then this is just capitalism, there's no guarantee the system will provide her sinecure. Ultimately all she, and Era and probably Hasan, want is a worse version of the Nordic model, mostly rampant capitalism (but only for people they like) with a gigantic welfare state that allows maybe even a majority of people to not work. Only they hate everything necessary for a gigantic welfare state and everything necessary for making sure a welfare state would be funded enough.

It's all so obvious she doesn't even understand the "alternative" theory when you recognize Nepenthe wants an advanced modern economy with a gigantic welfare state, that's also "degrowthed" back to subsistence living while also returning all the "wealth" that never existed to Africa. There's literally no explanation for how this could be possible because it's not, yet supposedly people trading their labor with others to benefit both is so contradictory (and inhuman) that it's the cause of why she's forever in this hellworld:

This shit just happens if your family makes over the median income, you become historically wealthy beyond par. This is dumb on its face, so you just handwave and explain it as the "class" because some people were always wealthier than others. And the "system" self-perpetuates from there. Which is why you can also ignore that 95% of businesses fail in their first year yet the system self-perpetuates.

The "contradictions of capitalism" is the great hoodwink and great projection that hides that the entire theory is nothing but endless contradictions that explain nothing. It's all ad-hoc because the purpose is to "expose" the immorality. (Of, I'd argue, reality.)

LSF just likes to talk about big, popular streamers so for many years it was obsessed with OTK.  Which means to resetera that its a hive of chuds and everyone (but Hasan somehow) is dirty because popular streamers tend to farm each other for content and most of them have interacted with OTK members at some point.
