Some streamers forming parasocial bonds with largely underaged or underdeveloped fans to then monetarily exploit is what it is. As I understand it, it’s common to tip or gift money to streamers for a shout out. At least you’re getting empty calories in this exchange. But unless you do away with the way it all operates, the system is ripe for exploitation. I think so, anyway. This is all second and third hand accounts. This stuff didn’t really exist in my day.
