My brother lived relatively close by to some previously (about 2 years ago) and I don’t think they had any issues. No increase in traffic due to the extremely low ratio of manpower to square footage, but also why local merchants weren’t too happy. Nobody to sell to.

I’d have to ask if it jacked electricity rates though, and whether the water rates were affected (doubt it).

That first video is bizzare. The complaints were first about the construction of the buildings, which is not a data center issue, but a construction issue. Then about smelling toxic gas, which was all about a refinery. The fuck does that have to do with a data center?

Another example: GeoGuessr. I got a bit addicted to it this year (neeeeeerd) and color me surprised when I saw that all the top "female players" in the world are trans women. It doesn't require any mechanical skills as you're simply clicking on Google maps, but reaching the top of the leaderboard is peak autism as you basically have to memorize all the roads and electricity pole tops in the world.

In 10 years we'll wonder why it took so long to establish the clear link between autism and "transness".

Yeah it's kind of misleading, the third video goes into more detail. Apparently Musk got a bunch of gas powered turbines to power his data center and that's where the shitty fumes come from and in typical musk fuckery it's something he doesn't really have permits for. Though this also means this doesn't universally apply to every Data Center 

Basically from what I'm gathering the problem are the flimsy regulations surrounding the data centers and not necessarily the structure itself. These are issues that could be fixed, but likely not under Trump, soI can understand why people aren't excited to have one built near them right now

Out of everything that happened Tuesday, this is what I'm happiest about. Even though I'm on Ga power's flatbill rate, power bills are insane in the state. And perhaps what's more disgusting is how these data centers are popping up in neighborhoods that are mostly people of color, because they can. Shit is gross and needs to be stopped.

How dare they buy cheap land for development which bring jobs into these communities of color! It’s an outrage! 

Now hold on. Data centers do not bring much at all in the way of jobs. It will help tax revenue tremendously, but it won’t do much past help the local governments dollars.

It’s certainly logical for companies to choose those areas as they are cheap land with utilities access, I can’t fault them for going in that direction. I’d also question how it’s always minority areas. Anecdotally, I’ve seen them pop up in the rural outskirts that are not minority areas. Companies are chasing low land value.

There are white collar jobs in these datacenters, from software support to hardware support, the construction jobs for building/maintaining, and then the support jobs in the forms of security, custodians and what not. 

Some info here suggests variability in how many people per facility but its more than the zero that was there before in these low income areas.

The Park has gone through some renovations recently from funding via a deal with xAI and OpenAI, modifying and "fixing" the audio animatronics and rides with ChatGPT level of AI. The day has gone well (unless you hate Disney or/and theme parks in which cause it's been awful) but their have been several oddities, rides acting funny, worried staff; a feeling you're being watched intently...
That night, potentially separated by your friends, you find yourself struggling somehow to get out of the park before 10pm until eventually.... *BOOM!!!* You're shut in for the night! Stuck in the park until 8am the next day... And it's a very cold and rainy night.

But oddly, the lights are on and the door is open to the Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln stage show. you enter the building for warmth and to your surprise, when you enter the theatre, the stage show begins, with Abraham Lincoln standing up from his chair and making his speech... Until he goes off script, his dialogue sounding liking it's cut up from other segments and distorted... And he begins talking about you, some accurate; some inaccurate... And then he whips out a bloody Smith & Wesson revolver from his pocket and fires it at you; hunting you across the park...

Because tonight... Disneyland is having an AI MELTDOWN!!!! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!

The threats:

1. The "improved" audio animatronic of Abraham Lincoln is hunting you. He's slow and inaccurate and will be going on about the unfairness of existence (he will also answer questions if asked (won't stop him trying to kill you), some of the answers being accurate). He also has spare ammo but struggles hard to reload his gun.
   
2. The Audio animatronic of Walt Disney from the 'A Magical Life' stage show is also trying to hunt you with a hunting rifle and he and Lincoln have already killed all the park's night staff. Walt Disney also thinks he's a hentai character, in love with Elon Musk; and will unprompted discuss "white genocide" in South Africa, citing farm murders and the song "Kill the Boer".
   
3. The Pirates of the Caribbean animatronics can't speak and move as well as the above two, but will try to grab you if you get to close to the ride and will try to eat you... They can't actually digest you but it's the act they enjoy.
   
4. The Mainstreet vehicles are self-driving and crashing into everything and the Railroad Train is out of control and will eventually go off the rails and explode in a burning fireball.
   
5. The bird animatronics in the Enchanted Tiki Room will randomly explode while yelling at you about nonsense; both to try to hurt you and because the AI is just that crap.
   
   
6. The children in the It's a Small World ride will be singing random nonsense or pop song made by AI and will screech loudly to alert Lincoln and Walts to your presence. The will also giggle manically.
   
7. The Mark Twain Riverboat will crash onto land and force itself into the rest of the park, trying to hunt you or anything else the boat sees moving.
   
8. The Snow White animatronic from the Enchanted Wish ride now thinks their a Professional Wrestler and will wrestle you to death.
   
9. Autopia cars and the Dumbo the Flying Elephant carousel are now speeding out of control.
   
10. Haunted Mansion is full of bodies Walts and Lincoln placed there.
    
11. Hondo Ohnaka is NOT actively trying to kill you and acts like their trying to help you; but their actually trying to con you out of everything you have, including your organs to sell.
    
12. The Storm Troopers from the Rise of the Resistance ride are marching everywhere in the park, bonking their heads on everything, trying to fire their useless blasters and being more of a nuisance then anything.
    

You have to survive at least 10 hours in the park alone with these threats, there will be safety in the morning. Can you survive the night in Disneyland?
