Stupid question perhaps, but how likely is it for Jirard/OpenHandFoundation to lawyer up and go with the legal route to take down Karl's/Mutahar's video?

Not a lawyer, but I'd imagine that it depends on how they go about it.

As a generality America's legal system is really big on freedom of speech - I don't mean that as a positive statement, since hate speech has been repeatedly stated to be legal in America by the Supreme Court because of how free speech works. But regardless, defamation seems like it would be a rough route to take if the person you say is defaming you had reason to believe that what they said is true. You don't even necessarily have to prove that what you're saying is actually correct to have a legal defense there.

They already trying to make a complaint through YouTube so maybe they could try to block it another way like a copyright thing. No idea how effective that could be, but sometimes lawsuits are used simply because it's expensive to be in legal proceedings so you can strongarm the other party into cooperating if you're able to afford it.

The hilarious thing has always been that CDPR isn't banned, Cyberpunk 2077 is. When Kyuuji's lists of crimes are all things CDPR did and aren't inherent to Cyberpunk as an IP despite what's claimed. And those threads always have extensive complaints about the crimes of The Witcher franchise as well but it remains safe. And the original sin crime of the tweets was done on the GOG account while that is also unbanned. None of it's ever made any sense, same as allowing the Joanne crimes thread while banning even the mention of Hogfarts or Harry Poopter in general. Like the MCU fans who are fleeing in droves they want views about certain subjects restricted to only one-direction which just happens to be theirs, although there's no way to know where they got this idea that such rules would be enacted on ResetERA.com, I'd need a STAFF COMMUNICATION to properly tell me where this idea of theirs came from and who's responsible. Joking aside, I think when you have a superficial and comedic concept of state power it's not actually totally irrational to believe you would in fact be different as the right people in charge. They're "fixing" the "system" to ban bad things, so bad things like Trump getting in power and using it against the good guys simply can't happen. We banned bad things, the system no longer allows for how he got in power and besides I'm doing "good things" not what was banned.

Few of these people ever think of bans as anything beyond "bad things go away now" rather than it means violence will be happening to people, especially minorities/marginalized, let alone think there's such a thing as unintended consequences or second order effects rather than what's the stated selling point intention. So you just ban hate speech with police monitoring everything, give everyone a six figure salary so they don't have to work, allow self-diagnosis and self-identification in everything but race while establishing quotas and castes, start the drug war and copy it to as many areas of life as possible, establish monopolies/cartels/protections so politics determines capital flow, remove checks and balances on state institutions, grant everyone the ability to kick anyone you want in the nuts without consequence as long as you claim they're a fascist, put everyone into politically rationed state housing and state healthcare with no other outside options allowed, have an apocalypse that destroys society while requiring all institutions to be rebuilt "rationally" from scratch so we can all take carrots, etc. and if it doesn't work you just hit harder until it conforms to how you, omniscient center of the universe, idealize.

Don't make me emotionally labor with the details, I told you to just do better, stop dismissing my concerns with things I don't like such as "scarcity" or "tradeoffs" because those are now banned too.

Western culture tells people an abstract entity known as "the people" is collectively omniscient and omnipotent while also telling them their vote not just matters but decides everything. Thus people (even those like Obama or Trump) conclude they personally can implement anything they want in politics with none of those nasty real world restrictions. Or as another newly book reading scholar recently put it just assume you "have the power to collectively enact change for each other" without any conflicts or limitations then refuse to ever compromise.
