Right now there's really nothing we can do except survive and contribute to causes that work against the Trump admin + aid the victims when we are able. I have chosen to focus on adding the LGBTQA community, especially PoC who overwhelmingly voted against Trump and will be some of the most impacted by having a Nazi adjacent white supremacist in office.

If I find out someone is a Trump voter/supporter I also cut them off as best as I am able, just like I would any Nazi sympathizer.

I'm also using a Costco membership to overstock on essential nonperishable supplies and just had my husband overstock on his meds in case of scarcity concerns.

I also also am getting the house ready in case my Mom and sister don't feel safe where they are and need a place to stay.

Unfortunately it seems like the U.S. population is going to have to go through a whole lot of suffering the next few years. There's no guarantee that this will shake off the complacency of our government allowing Trump back into office yet again (because he objectively should have been disqualified after Jan 6th 2020), but the important thing to do is not give up and take everything day by day until the situation improves.

But Trump is already firing the first shot, and if he DOES decide to respond to Canada's retaliation with military action, I would most certainly hope that Canada's NATO allies would come to their defense.
