I think it's more about not having to 'celebrate' on a specific time or day if you don't have kids or a partner?

Birthdays in general just seem like a thing for kids. As a kid you get presents, your family visits. It was always fun.
But with the bros, we just hang out, have a dinner, usually a trip to the movies or the pub.

If you want something you just buy it. I bought the S25 Ultra as a month early birthday gift for myself. I could've kept it unpacked, but why wait.

With couples I mostly see them celebrate the anniversaries (wedding / first date) more than their own birthdays. 

Overall I like to celebrate achievements more like big deals and end of year results than just surviving another rotation of the planet

All of Resetera now believes banning episodes is dumb. All of Resetera? Well... not quite

I'm not sure why we constantly need television episodes disparaging the act of blackface by having some dumbfuck 'accidentally' do it.

White people know blackface is wrong, so there's little educational value there. It continues to be perpetuated because white people don't actually give a shit about harming Black people, mainly because there's no meaningful social or legal consequences for doing so 99 times out of 100.

Blackface episodes completely miss the root of the problem, which is that white people are and largely always have been unwilling to police their racism. Blackface depiction then just comes across as self-indulgant. It's Tarantino saying the n-word.

See, there's zero value to these episodes because everyone already knows that blackface is racist. However I will also react insanely outraged when some Japanese cosplayer claims they didn't know that blackface is bad

It sure is lucky that black people can't be racist because they're black, as per era doctrine, or there would be a lot to unpack about nepenthes little diktat here, not the least being in what context 'blackface' is 'bad' and why, and if its not self explanatory then surely there is educational value.

For example, the Always Sunny Lethal Weapon Sequel episode clearly isn't taking a job away from a black person that would otherwise have been employed.
The episode of 30 Rock where Jenna does blackface because shes in an oppression olympics with Tracey to prove who has it harder in life isn't a joke at black peoples expense - its a joke at the expense of two narcissicists so vastly removed from any oppression or average experience they both think that its a good idea. (But of course, a white woman in blackface is the most disgusting taboo imaginable, but a black man pretending to be a woman is true courage against societal norms, amirite?)
