I'm always fascinated by how bad of liars these dudes are. The message literally contains multiple contradictory and incoherent claims. Look at all the reasons provided in one single message for why it's necessary to spend on bras, wigs and videogames rather than save:
1. What am I meant to do? (Save rather than spend on those things?)
2. You don't know my situation. You don't know me. (Oh, so you're actually doing fine?)
3. I need to do everything I can to keep my head above water. (So you should cut unnecessary spending?)
4. I CANNOT SAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO CHANGE MY LIFE. It is impossible. (Well there goes your transition not being stunted or ever getting the happiness you deserve.)
5. And don't say "get a job" I can't. (Even if true, an irrelevant point because the original argument was to not spend versus saving, but here we can see he's leaning into trying to argue he has no choice yet again.)
6. I deserve happiness. Fuck you. (The person didn't say otherwise, they suggested a better path to happiness.)

It's ultimately about responsibility. Nearly all trans women (and trans people in general) on social media are seeking an escape from responsibility of any kind. Shreds is a moron and his plan is going to fail but for the first time since he murdered his roommate is taking responsibility for his situation. That's commendable even if he shouldn't do this stupid thing in this stupid way. Violet is like most of the rest, placing the locus of control for their own situation entirely outside themselves and on everyone else in the world. This is why Violet will never achieve happiness even if we grant he deserves it. 

We don't have to look at his life situation or whatever, we can look at his own telling of his past relationships and what he hopes will be true about his current long distance ones. We know these will fail too because all his writing places the locus of control for his relationships outside of himself and entirely onto the other person. He's barely in these "relationships" and he's already been establishing impossible standards for them such as that his new girlfriends will always accept him for "who he is" no matter what. That's not a framing for a healthy, mature, relationship because it's establishing grounds that necessitate the other person be dishonest.

This is not to say that the alternative extreme, which most trans people on social media also constantly engage in, that everything is your fault. That's just the narcissistic inverse, that the world moves based on you. A proper locus of control starts from the assumption that your choices drive things but it makes sure to confirm this assumption in every individual case. It's both possible and plausible that every situation offers a choice for you to achieve your aims but reality, the fact we live in linear time, etc. confines you to not all possible choices at all times. This is why we reflect and regret and so on, because we can evaluate choices after the fact. If we push our locus of control to either extreme then regrets cannot exist and we have nothing to reflect on, our only actual choices are either paralysis (from too many choices, since it's all in our hands) or helplessness (since no matter what we choose we have no say) which in either case leaves all events to be determined outside us.

I imagine Violet actually engages in both, he's too afraid to make any choices but those already within his routine and mostly superficial while believing that he has no say justifies his inaction. And so he wants out of his situation, to be with his many beautiful girlfriends and treated like the woman he is, but all he can do is grow frustrated at how nobody else achieves this for him.
