Least I made the right decision cancelling the appointment I'd waited months for, for a private dysphoria diagnosis. That's £600 saved which never made sense to begin with. I have C cup breasts, I don't need to pay someone to tell me I'm trans. No sense continuing the GRC process I was part-way through either. Whole bunch of wasted time and effort there. Seems there's no recourse for trans women to be seen as women legally anymore.

I'm fortunate enough to pass to most people, pre-surgery, but even then I'm not going to live my life dependant on whether some random clocks me and I risk going to a men's prison. Fuck that. Equally not about to go into a men's bathroom because that's awkward for everyone, especially while I've had zero issues with women and spaces throughout my transition. So… fuck knows honestly.

I feel that people with real gender dysphoria will not half ass their transition or at least will really, really, really try to pass, as that is the whole point of those surgeries.

But is kind of  that Kyuuji says “what is the benefit of looking like a woman if I get thrown to men’s prison.”

This thing I have made my entire personality and present myself as an authority for to the extent I will demand things are banned on behalf of a community I claim spokesperson status for is so important to me tha- wait £600? nah, fuck that

The failure to do this is why your civil war never ended, why crimes against the indigenous did not end in my country, why Nazis exist in 2025 at all.

Maybe you just get squeamish at the idea of consequences because you know they're coming for you sooner rather than later. Maybe when you're the one who feels like people are gonna blame you and hate you for what your people do to others, you just can't bring yourself to agree that you, too should face the music. But that's why some people are remembered as collaborators and others as rebels.

And if it were Canada threatening the world, every word I'm saying would be the same. I don't make exceptions because Canada compares well to a lot of other "western democracies". But I do take exception to Americans, of all fucking people, acting again like the moral arbiters.

I've always struggled to learn how to play any of these instruments, I think in large part because of self imposed expectations.

This time around, I really want to use these instruments to make little sweet sounds without any expectations or a need for results. I just wanna be able to engage with these instruments in a liberating way, and learn how to play songs by ear, and play them for a bit before I go to bed.

Any tips for how to get into the habit, or ways to practice that result in sweet soothing sounds?

Another big reason I wanna do this, is because I believe playing instruments before bed instead of being on the internet will make for better sleep.

EDIT: For reference, I have 3 guitars, a bass, a keyboard, and a bunch of other instruments actually.
