I find it curious that when Alan Cumming was on stage this guy shouted the f-word and when a black man was on stage it was the n-word.

But why?  The fact that the insults seem to "match" the individuals is just because the mind is hyper-aware of what is taboo or shocking in that specific context. It isn't because he’s directing it at them personally.  It's a horrible condition - My friend had a doctor growing up that had the coprolalia and he would say the most heinous, awful shit, and my friend would tell us about it and we'd all laugh...but in hindsight, imagine how horrible it would be to go through med school and find work at a hospital and want to be taken seriously as a professional among your peers and patients and you have to deal with this.  People just have to be more understanding of what's really happening.

I feel like I've said this a few times lately but it really feels like this community is sliding backwards.

"You shouldn't be allowed to go to public ceremonies if you have Tourette's" is actually an insane take.

Let me explain, I work with students, kids, children, often with disabilities. Some have toureettes, autism etc the full works.

Now I also work with a majority black and brown kids, in the most like 90 to 95% POC students.

I cannot be having that behavior, or language around as it will cause a huge disturbance and lots of issues. So, the toureettes I've had to deal with is tics and stutters and the occasional fuck or shit or bitch. When this happens the student themselves knows its better to walk away and take a minute to themselves. Without instructions from me, we have had meaningful interactions about this and everyone understands.

If you have a history, you should understand your own behavior and be adult enough to understand how your conditions are perceived and take precautions so shit like this doesn't happen.

Shitty what happened to Delroy and MBJ on the stage. I understand the person has tourettes, but that's still fucked up. If it's causing that bad, maybe the person shouldnt be at the event. Also shitty if it's true BBC left that part in when they cut out someone saying "free palenstine" and made other edits.
