One thing I think doesn't get enough attention here at The Bire is the arc of Era praxis.

Ok Era, I think I remember that talking point from a really low-brow, problematic, and quite stupid source, many years ago. But for the sake of argument, lets say I concede. Voting is pointless. With that being the case, what is the solution?

I would say that an underlying unspoken argument in many of their posts has been that voting is pointless because we need cis to arm up and start killing people in the street so the revolution kicks off and basic human decency finally arrives to give us all the dignified lives we deserve.

Their championing of things like petty retail theft as "revolutionary direct action" easily fits into this framework.

People on reddit have found his account there (which has now been nuked - even from the mirror sites). Seems he posted quite a bit about suffering from Spondylolisthesis, and trying to deal with health insurance companies. Apparently, they were refusing to approve his surgery until he turned 40.

I clicked the link, and the only "they" who I see denied him are...the surgeons themselves. If he's going to them about spinal fusion, that's not a "evil insurance company" issue, that's a "irreversible, potentially unhelpful, let's-try-other-methods because you are still very young" issue. 

Which to me supports the idea that he is not a rational actor on some sacred quest, but an angry person lashing out at an appealing target.

I mean it changes a heck of a lot when the original comment was "the appeal of these games is just collecting cartoon girls that appeal to the taste of specific men for your collection." There is very clearly an appeal far beyond that, and reducing the game to such a trash ass description is just thinly veiled misogyny.

To be perfectly honest, if someone looks at Genshin Impact and their take away from it is "this is a waifu simulator", I think that says a lot more about that person than anything else.
