Like most of us they they were swamped in a childhood culture of self-esteem and "you can be anything you want" but as they show constantly in their interpretations of media they took this literally not figuratively. The comparative life of ease we've basically all had compared to previous generations has, as they also show constantly, created a sense of narcissistic entitlement where one should have to do literally nothing and in return receive literally everything.

At some point, as all of us experience, reality came to exist. Rather than the typical growth into adulthood they've almost universally chosen to opt out and lash out at everything else for not rising them to where they feel they deserve. Nepenthe and art, Nothing Loud and PhD, PlanetSmasher and any video game, so on and so on. The lack of actual struggle in their lives, outside of self-imposed problems like debts, only emphasizes the distance between their actual irrelevant state and what they imagined would be their conquering status.

The answer can't be them, that's verboten. We're all perfect as we are after all. That's why the problem must be capitalism. Or racism. Or sexism. Or maybe I'm the wrong sex and everyone else just needs to be forced to treat me like a different one because that will realign people's expectations of me with the reality that disappoints them. And not just that, you can see how many of them take on new personas and identities and then cast them off. PlanetSmasher's endless claims to fame are just the most obvious. How many of them are trying to be streamers even though SeafoamGaming is the only who has anything of value to say? Their personalities and interests are almost all interchangeable. They scrape out any sense of actual individuality to constantly fit into an ever shrinking clique, which then demands they differentiate themselves by exaggerating the irrelevant differences that remain. The victimization excuses are part of this by shifting from themselves to the group level. Nobody can object that racism is a thing, so obviously racism is at fault, nay, society itself at every level is just deliberately constructed to thwart Nepenthe living the life she deserves. Really, there's nothing she or any of them can do to be happy, if they try to change, if they try being good people, everything else will just stand in their way and deny them.

As I like to point out they really are "exhausted" and "so tired" because they have habituated themselves into needing the offense cycles, needing to be "activated" by the latest outrage to perform for, etc. It's deliberately and constantly necessary because they've stripped everything else of having value on purpose, they've relegated everything else but these displays of morality to being meaningless through a compete totalization of everything but their favorite media being compared to a fantasy derived from that media. The completely totalized expectations are constantly crashing up against reality.

Like their ignorance they don't grasp the disordered thinking because their framework is one that prioritizes the superiority of the self uber alles. Errors aren't something you do, staff especially, errors are things that everyone else forces onto you because the world is cruel and hateful towards you out of jealously. If only people just, sigh, shut up, sat down and listened to you, they'd know what they should be doing.

You can see it in their ideology how actually different people don't matter. They either are assumed to not exist or assumed to be bad faith and so can be ignored/dismissed at best or literally eliminated at worst. So all the hard political or ethical or moral choices of life just fade away because everyone who matters is in total agreement at all times. Like, he's literally got caught misrepresenting the truth on social media with the LA Times endorsement scandal. -chin and cheekbone structure are close, but hold some pretty significant differences. Also, the guy in the security photo capture is significantly paler than this guy.
-NYPD has more funding than most countries national armies and this whole situation has been pretty embarrassing for them that it has taken this long. While I don't particularly care for this guy, I don't think he's the killer.
-NYPD's planted guns and evidence on people plenty of times before.
-It makes a nice story that some old lady just happened to spot the killer at a restaurant, but am I really supposed to believe that a multi-billion dollar security apparatus was outdone by eyesight alone?

You're gonna get a lot of hate for this post, but I would recommend looking into how crimes are solved and how ineffective police are when it comes to solving crimes after the fact. Just because the NYPD has billions backing them doesn't make them good at their job. Big case killers have been caught this way before too: Richard Ramirez aka the Night Stalker in LA was caught by someone recognizing him and a bunch of neighbors stopping him from running. It wasn't the cops.

I'm really curious to know what it is the cops are supposed to do in their head?
They get to the crime scene, try to find DNA, look at security footage, try to get a match in databases, publish pics/videos of the perp, ask for tips and investigate if serious.
What else are they expecting really? Posting a cop every 50 feet and wait for the guy to pass by? No shit they're gonna rely on witnesses. Do they think we live in a Bourne movie or Watch_Dogs with face recognition cameras seemingly covering every inches of the world and alerts popping up on computers?

Maybe I have low standards, but finding a masked killer who managed to escape the scene and get a big head start, in a week, is pretty decent. Though I get it's not fast enough for the twitter/Bluesky news cycle brain.
