Am I wrong for telling my boyfriend if he doesn’t shower I’m leaving him?

My boyfriend M 21 and me F 20 have been dating for 3 years, the relationship was going amazing until last month. He was watching YouTube and came across a video of a creator talking about how they don’t shower for months at a time because apparently it’s “healthier”. So he stopped showering and everytime i mention to him that he needs to shower because it’s f-king GROSS! He gets mad and storms off. I’ve been mentioning that he needs to shower for the past 3 weeks now and he refuses. We got into a huge argument (we never fight) and it got to the point where I screamed at him and told him that he smells like BO and if he doesn’t shower I’m leaving him. I eventually packed a bag with essentials grabbed my car keys and rented a hotel room for 2 nights.. he blew up my phone non stop telling me he’s sorry and to come home.. I eventually had to block his number due to him sending me 20 messages at a time and having over 40 missed calls from him.. he used to take 3 showers a day, wear expensive cologne, and wear deodorant.. now he won’t shower, showers himself in cologne and he won’t wear deodorant.. everytime he hugs me or gets close to me I gag! What do I do?

That's absolute bullshit though. I've seen dudes streaming on Twitch shirtless more often than I'd fucking like & none of them ever got banned for being shirtless. One streamer I sometimes catch live is the most hysterically funny streamer to me (aside from maybe Jerma) & he doesn't give a flying fuck about looking passable in front on the camera. I've seen that dude shirtless so often, I'm more surprised when I see him wearing a shirt. Swear he wears a shirt over his bald head more often than his upper body. And nobody gives a fuck, because men's chests aren't sexualized by the general public.

Also, female cosplayers have gotten banned instead for just showing too much thighs & shit. If someone was also actually streaming without, you know, doing actual art & not covering their nipples, they'd get banned very quickly. Women have gotten banned for as little as an purely accidental nip slip. Men do not have the problem with their breast tissue being seen as sexual. But boobs are by a large percent of society seen as inherently sexual which is fucking disgusting. And body painters have to cover their nipples & full areolas, so they're not fully naked boobs anyway.

Yes, some female streamers - especially some doing ASMR that's just them sucking on stuff & staring into the camera - are obviously just trying to see how much very mild sexual shit they can pull off before they get banned. I know some of the more popular ones (indiefoxx, I think?) even outright said so. Because they're trying to get people to sub to their OF & other similar sites anyway. You can think about that what you want as long as you're not going on a misogynistic tirade (impossible to hold a good conversation about it on Era, with men, without streamers involved with/impacted by those streams). But that doesn't mean that Twitch wouldn't give a fuck about women being shirtless & would immediately ban men for being shirtless lol. Streamers like Amouranth get away with a lot of things, because it brings in money, too. Lesser-known ones absolutely get less leeway. But allowing naked boobs in any sexual manner isn't something Twitch could ever allow unless they wanna get into deep shit. Naked (again, they're not even fully naked) boobs that just, you know, exist on a body, should be fucking fine. Because they're not sexual, especially not when someone is doing body painting. Surely there's some popular streamers who'd also take advantage of the body painting being allowed as you'll always have horny fucks not wanting to even go off Twitch to rub one out - would never blame the streamers for that tho, because they're not breaking any rules. If anything, I'd think less of the boys & men who make that shit out to be something sexual in the first place. But I'd hate for body painting as a whole to get banned or be seen as an inherently sexual thing, just because you can see breast tissue. It's just so damn silly.

Again, boobs aren't inherently sexual. No, big boobs aren't inherently sexual either, as much as both media & society love to tell everyone that they are. Body painting is an actual form of art, no matter if people like it or not. In a perfect world, nobody would have to have their chests covered, because boobs wouldn't be seen as something that gets people horny outside of clearly sexual settings. But that's never gonna happen, as it's mostly men who think all boobs are inherently sexual to the point where they even get angry, horny, or both when they see a mother breastfeeding her child in public.

Man, we've had so many threads on this stuff in the past & it always ended up in a misogynistic dumpster fire. But 2nd post starting it (well, aside from the OP) is a new record, I think.

I will keep this short. Due to circumstances beyond my influence I may have the chance to bring in 3 more foster kids bringing my house hold total to 11 kids. I wont get into the specifics but they are 2 boys(9) and a girl(8). I dont presume it would be permanent but who knows what the future brings.

Am I nuts for even entertaining the idea? No my house is not that big but I can convert the sun room into a bedroom fairly easy. Move a kid from this room to that one. Buy more bunk beds. Add another religion on top of my own. (Someones God has to help me, right?)

The site isn't a monolith, it's clear that GMG media has been cutting support staff to the bone, and there have been many writers that really cut their teeth on writing at Kotaku.
