It's been decades. There is no mythical savior for sports games, and suggesting the teams don't try is "lazy devs rhetoric," but I doubt the staff cares about that forgotten rule anymore.

As a not so proud supporter of the games for the last two and a half decades, I will say this:

No, they do not need to make one every year. EA and the NFL are a greedy match made in heaven, but none of the major sports are gonna budge because DLC updates never sell as well as new products.

At the same time, 24 is actually fun and a worthwhile iteration. "Sapien technology" makes it look more in line with 2k's more realistic animations...finally.

if i can, always. biggest things in the last year or so have been covering a trans friend's $2k deposit so they could get housed, giving another trans friend who got surprise fired $2.5k so she and her wife (both chronically ill) could keep up with their medical care, and giving another unemployed trans friend one of my credit cards in her name so she can get groceries. pay for for another trans friend's therapy that they couldn't afford otherwise.

i don't ask to be repaid and don't expect to be. it's possible that the friend who got fired will be able to, since she just got a new job, and if she can that's nice but if she can't that's okay too. community has given me everything i have and i know community will be there for me if i need them too.

i get paid with queer community money and i'm a communist. my politics and ethics drive me to share as much as i am able.

My friends, I am just trying to understand what the facts are. I disagree with either approach - both the full ban with a 2-year window to evaluate (obviously) and FIDE's 2-year verification window for each trans player. But I think the situation may be the latter not the former, and the difference matters, and I'm not going to apologize for trying to understand whether the article is wrong (which I think it may be, largely because FIDE's rule is written poorly).

I mean pissing off literally everybody will do that. The option to let it blow over wasn't taken, instead they validated the campaign of bigots which only gave them more fuel while turning off the people they were attempting to appeal to in the first place.

I unfortunately think that the majority of the damage was done to their primary demographic, which was middle America republicans. It sucks, but their boycott worked. I think it's a pretty scary reality of the state of this country.

NBA, NHL and MLB don't have exclusives, how many competing sports games do you see for those?

They simply cost too much now, that's why EA's only sporadically attempted to come back to the NBA. I wouldn't be surprised if it was like a $100 million investment to get a major league sports title off the ground.
