And the GOP controls congress  

It surprises me how the Democrats made the same mistake with Kamala as they did with Hillary.
Obama/Biden left a bunch of things on the table so Hillary/Kamala would have a bunch of easy wins and policies to run on.
They both went as far as to give Hillary/Kamala some important jobs to carry out and both bungled it (Hillary Libya, Kamala the border).

Something like increasing NATO spending to 5% would've been an easy win for Biden when he gave his NATO speech earlier this year but it looks as if it was postponed as low hanging fruit for Kamala and now Trump gets it. Trump wasn't waiting around at the end of his first term, the only thing that got delayed was the COVID vaccine announcement but that wasn't his call and pissed him off.

At the end of Bidens presidency they're really scrambling to salvage what they can, trying to sell the border wall pieces, contemplating pre-emptive pardons and pinning medals on loyal party members.

It all seems too little, too late or to quote a favorite movie of mine: "They're a bunch of fucking amateurs"
