Not entirely sure how to explain it, but I have kids and not 40. Biologically things have not totally grown apart from my wife and I. Nothing super concrete but she is OK if I go out and things happen as long as I am responsible IE strippers or clubs. A talk has happened before where things get wild but it's always been in the idea of I remain "loyal" to the family which makes sense. Does anyone else have experience with this? I have had talks with her about this and she knows my clubbing days. I am confident she has given the green like, but my question is, I guess, where that green line is for y'all.

i'm in in Metro Detroit.
Just got back from Popeyes after waiting an hour for my food.
The place was tremendously understaffed with teens who could not give less of a shit.
The was an elderly couple who were genuinely about to jump over the counter and fight the apathetic cashier.

And as I'm driving back I'm noticing more and more places closing down, with nothing new having opened up in recent years.

It is such a miserable experience here lmao.

So few places to meet folk, very few communities to get involved in, the dating scene is absolutely abysmal, and stores close at 6 PM due to poor staffing. Hell, I work in healthcare and I've seen clinics shut down due to no one operating them. Even trying to get the simplest errands done these days has become an exhausting endeavor because of all this.

None of this is surprising though. Michigan is experiencing some of the worst brain drain in the country. Hell, when I graduated from college in 2019, almost immediately did all my friends leave the state. Only reason I stayed is because my family has no one else to take care of them, and I still love them to pieces, but even that is no longer a compelling enough reason for me to stay.

This is a disguised vent thread, but I would love to hear from folks have gone through/currenrly going through similar circumstances.
