As much as I love Jurassic Park, it actually has a few lines that are nonsense or set-up stuff that never get mentioned again.

This line is later alluded to and... How the fuck did they clone prehistoric plants?! This is never seen or mentioned again in ANY movie and isn't something from the books. It doesn't help that the scene where she got the leaf got cut out but they still kept the line in.

John Hammond: No, no! If I was to create a flock of condors on this island, you wouldn't have anything to say.

Ian Malcolm: No, no, listen, this isn't some species that was obliterated by deforestation or, uh, the building of a dam. Dinosaurs, uh, had their shot, and nature selected them for extinction.

No Chaos theorist would every fucking say this because it completely undermines Ian's argument because what he really just said was "How dare interfere in God's domain! Because really what's the actual difference between a species dying out by uncaring humans and an uncaring meteor. This isn't from the books either, this Spielberg adding his own argument and he really shouldn't have because it's kind of clear he doesn't know what evolve is because no, you aren't "selected" for extinction. To be blunt, both book and film; the only reason Ian Malcom comes across as smart and clever is because of the acting of Jeff Goldblum (seriously the films spares you from Ian's pages long worth of rants and rants that are just Michael Crichton which given he ended up being climate change denier who advised George Bush Jr. against climate change percussions... Yeah I don't give a shit what he has to say or care why he thinks Engineers aren't intelligent)

Even at the time of the film, this was nonsense (T. rex likely had better eyesight then us). The reason this line is here is because it's a mangling of something that happens in the book because like in the movie, the T. rex doesn't seem when they don't move... Which baffles Dr Grant how they're even alive... Because it's one of the first big foreshadowings that the Frog DNA has affected the Dinosaurs. Speaking of...

Grant: Well, on the tour, the film said they used frog DNA to fill in the gene sequence gaps. They mutated the dinosaurs' genetic code and blended it with that of frogs. Some species of West African frog are known to spontaneously change sex from male to female in a single-sex environment.

Here's a question, why would you use Frog DNA to fill the code of Dinosaurs instead of, oh I don't know, Avian Dinosaurs, are Birds? This is especially weird when the movie made a big thus about Birds being descendants of Non-Avian Dinosaurs. This is another case of book mangling because in the books, birds WERE the first used, Frogs were around the 4-5th choice after the use of Dinosaurs more closer relatives like Crocodiles. This actually leads to an interesting plot point in the book were Grant and the kids discover two Dilophosaurus trying to mate despite lacking the Frog DNA; meaning that just found two lesbian Dinosaurs or "Life uhh finds away!

I'll end in a bit from the book since I've been picking on the movie which is the cameo from Meganeura, aka the famous prehistoric insect that looks like an oversized Dragonfly. They appear once then never again... And makes no sense. Their not one of the 15 animals InGen have brought back, nor could they be as they predate mosquitos, nor could you really oversize a Dragonfly without it just dying.

I was watching just married and in the scene where they're on a plane, a dude stumbles outta the bathroom after taking what was presumably a ghastly shit and tells them and I quote "Mexican food. That's an oxymoron."

So as you may know, I've been on a streak on watching a lot of 60s and 70s shows, primarily when I've been visiting my parents, starting with Columbo last year, then with The Prisoner and now the original Battlestar Galactica (and possibly Galactica 1980).

I was asking them what other shows from their childhoods they wanted to watch and suggestions like Charlie's Angels (which I'm still surprised so many people on ERA didn't know was a 70s TV series originally) UFO (a UK series by Gerry Anderson what was a hybrid of Live action and his famous model/puppet work), M.A.S.H and the one that stood out to me, Mission: Impossible and The Avengers (aka the reason the 2012 MCU film got renamed to Avengers Assemble in the UK).

I've never actually experienced either of them, including the Tom Cruise remake movies. The former seems like one of those works which like with the original Battlestar Galactica, seems like fans pretend don't exist and take away credit from the original creative to the creators of the remakes and my only familiarity with The Avengers is that is had an awful movie that had Sean Connery in a Teddy Bear costume:
