I remember being out of college, getting my first "big boy" job in tech. Being impressed by the directors and C-Levels. But as I progressed in my career, saw their decisions and decision making processes, the rose lost its bloom. Many of these people are pretty out of touch, stubborn, isolated, think they know everything, but have rather large deficits that no one informs on due to fear of losing their jobs.

Don't get me wrong, I've worked with a lot of smart people. And some competent executives, but it is not the true meritocracy that we've been sold, at least in the US.

I've also seen knew CEOs come in, kill company cultures, not understand the market, product, and steamroll in without any humility only to crash and burn.

Moreover, look at our politics lol. Fucking Donald Trump got elected to the top office and the man can't string a coherent sentence. And then look at his stooges. Not really impressive people either.

Notice how everything he has said it could be inferred outside of corpo America or browsing RE alone rather than he having a special insight as a insider.

I've posted about this before, but I have been dating someone (who I will reference as GF) for a few years now. We recently (less than two months ago) went to Disney World with her sister, my sister and my parents. I've noticed ever since we came home, she's been acting more distant, sending one word texts and has been angry at me for a reason I don't quite understand. She doesn't want to kiss/hug, engage in any form of sexual relations and has worsened her communication with me in general. I was told in a prior post that I need to talk to her and I did, but she wouldn't say anything/got really quiet anytime I did. I asked her this weekend if she wanted to break up and she didn't respond at all; I mentioned the distancing and said she can tell me if there's something wrong or going on, or if I've been doing something wrong. Her family recently told me she hasn't been talking much to them either when she's upset and it's been difficult. Here's a bullet point list of some important items:

- When I took a photo of her and a character at Disney with her phone, I saw a weird notification appear on an app that initially looked like a dating app (not 100% sure) that showed a weird named male added her (something like <some quiet face emoji>HunkyHank <winky face>). I asked her about it, not accusing her of anything, but wanted an explanation. She mentioned she was looking to meet friends because she doesn't have anyone to hang out with outside of work and told me she'd uninstall it immediately. I told her that shouldn't be an issue and she can do that to meet friends, but she proceeded to uninstall the app anyway.
- When we kiss or hug, it doesn't feel genuine anymore. She accidentally hurt me this weekend by hitting my head with my car trunk (didn't notice I was still looking) and she showed the most amount of hugging/kissing emotion in months. But died quickly the next morning
- We don't live together and live with parents still (we're in our early to mid 20s)
- We only see each other on the weekends; she works 7-6 doing daycare work and always seems exhausted by it
- My family, her and I went to a baseball game on Monday. I tried talking to her, but she didn't seem interested unless I was talking to someone else. She had told me she had a headache DURING afterwards; but she also gave me a dark look when I asked if she had any labor day plans during the game which I thought was weird.
- I've also taken her to the movies and multiple dinners post Disney
- Her and I have had prior experience working for a fast food chain (two different locations); relevant later in this post
- Most weekends since Disney she's been sleeping a lot or doing homework at my house. I'm okay with that since I then do my homework while she does either, but I've noticed she's been doing it a whole lot more.
- I drive about one hour each way to go see her every weekend; most of the time it's 4+ hours of me picking her up and taking her home (she doesn't have a license). She's also in an uncomfortable, unstable household and is the pseudo guardian of her sister (who is in high school).
- She's is typically a really sweet person and I really care to make her happy
