Random Gaming Talk
If you buy a lot of games PC is unbeatable in value with a lot of freebies and sales. Sky rocketing GPU prices messed it up a bit though.

And those won't come down anytime soon, AI is the new Cryptomining when it comes to hoarding GPU's.

Honestly, I've had a few gaming purges since the beginning.  Whether it was a desperation for money, selling stuff off, or getting a new system with no BC (PS3 -> PS4), going back to a clean slate is refreshing to me.  It's hard to accept half the time, but I never regret doing it in the long run.

That being said, this subscription service BS is always a hard pill to swallow.  This recent PS+ price hike maneuver could be the straw that broke the camel's back.  I have so many games on there, it's almost overwhelming... It's a double-edged sword though, because it makes it harder to focus on one game at a time.  On Steam, I got maybe like 20-30 games.  It would be nice to have a fresh library to focus on one game while it lasts.

The other toppler, is the success of the steam deck.  PC gaming finally getting to a comfortable convenience with it, it's definitely a grand swing for heading to sole PC gaming.
AND, now that they're selling refurbished ones, it's even more tempting..

Sometimes I wonder why I bother keeping old games stuff. Even if something doesn’t play nice with emulation, chances are I’d be too lazy to hook up my old systems. PS4 games play fine on PS5, as if most those games aren’t already on PC.

Should probably sell the valuable ones.

For me, I done away with my PS4 when I got a great PC.

I thought fuck it, if I ever want to play all those games again I'll get a PS5.

So far there has been nothing on PS5 that has made me want to jump in, but I have acquired a shitton of games for Steam

Wow, only an 87 for Starfield. Huge pile of dogshit.

Turns out that making fun of your fans angry with the changes to your franchise doesn’t make you a successful business.

At least they released that Saints Row 2 patch the fans have been wanting and to honour their fallen colleague.

No real shock there. How many people who made the games people liked were even still there?

IGN 7/10
GameSpot 7/10
PCGAMER 75/100

Girlslaff Heyman Judgment Day Everybody is laughing at you!

Guess I can finish up TOTK first, and won't have to jump into Starfield with any rush whatsoever.

Normal people - 87, cool, it must be a decent game.

Ree - Ohmafakkinggod it’s a disaster. Xbox is doomed.

I was expecting this kind of reaction if it hit 70, but luckily the spergs have not let us down

Man, this is a shame.

I heard from a former employee that they were a difficult environment to work in. Just wild. Still, many amazing games.

Finally got round to finishing FF16. Ending was a load of shit tbh, looking backwards you can see where they cut big chunks of the game and I reckon they bailed on itemisation when they got to about 30% of the planned work done. Despite that, and some thunderingly shite stretches and terminal sidequests, I reckon this is the best FF since 10 probably and I'd give it a big fat 9 for reasons I don't quite understand myself. The summons stuff never gets old I suppose and the combat is fantastic all the way through the game. And it should be because really thats all there is.

Now will be juggling Baldurs Gate 3 and Armored Core and Diablo for a bit.

Played the first hour of Starfield, it's pretty good. Even the shooting with the shitty starter pistol is decent.

Not sold on the space combat but that might just be me needing to get used to it.

Some of the takes in the Volition narrative. lol

"Don't blame them for Saints Row, if it wasn't for Embracer's failed deal this wouldn't have happened!!!"

And if it wasn't for Saints Row, Embracer would have been shutting down someone else today.

I started Starfield and thought I'd play half an hour or so just to get a taste. Looked up at the clock and it was 3 hours later. Cons. Hardly any so far. It looks good. Shooting feels good. There's no weapon quick swap as far as I can tell, but there's a favourites slots on the d pad. The space tutorial was short and confusing. The ship was really slow but it probably has to be upgraded before it can cruise around in space like NMS. Otherwise there'd be no point in having recruiting or build options. It's too early to really judge it, but so far it's definitely better than F76.

They somehow fucked up what is essentially a saints row 3 reskin (but somehow way worse) gameplay wise.

I do this from time to time.  Usually to fund the purchase of new hardware.  Might do this to get that Lenovo handheld next month, lol.

I dropped Xbox after that disastrous 2013 E3 and don't miss it one bit- PC has everything Xbox has anyway.  With Playstation, things slowly got worse to me and I lost interest in the majority of their first-party games.  I shouldn't have bothered with the PS5 -it's a literal dust magnet that just sits there unplayed- and even Sony is releasing their games on PC anyway.  Nintendo is the only one with a console still worth buying for their own games.  I used to buy a lot of stuff on Switch, but now if it's on Steam, I go for the game on there instead- it feels pointless building up digital game libraries on consoles when you don't know if those titles will be playable on their successors or if access will be removed in the future.   I'm at the point where I could just drop consoles all together and be happy.

I played Starfield for about an hour last night. I'm digging it for the most part. It does feel like Bethesda game in space, but so far most things feel all right. it's weird that they let you take off into space, but then you have to click to  orbit and then click to land. Why not let you set a waypoint and control more of that yourself?

So far, it seems more or less what I wanted out of Outer Worlds, but I did like the sarcasm and cynicism in that game.

You can set waypoints if you hit the scanner from inside the cockpit

So if your looking at a planet u can land from cockpit dont have to do it thru the map
