The F35 has been a mess from the start. I remember first hearing about it back in 2002 when it was a hot button political issue. 

I think Trump is just the perfect excuse the European countries need to write them off this early and go with other planes.
Even before Trump some EU countries wanted to stop supplying parts for the F35 because they were being used by Israel to bomb Gaza.

I think it's more insane how we have people like this dude seeking and receiving praise for openly declaring how irrational and incompetent he is yet remains a "decision maker" of some alleged importance. I don't understand how a reasonable person is supposed to see this and think he's any better than Trump let alone someone who should have any power at all. This tweet is utterly unhinged as would be any attempt to defend it as otherwise.

These are the people who said things like "the adults are back in charge" but never stop publicly acting like petty children for a few thousand likes.

I can hardly bring myself to ever care about Trump when everyone else is determined to use him as an excuse to act just as bad but somehow be praised simply because they aren't him.

edit: If anything, this man should be thanking Trump. He's saying he would have bought planes with secret killswitches otherwise because past presidents were better liars.

Also, good news, men! “Just jokes” is now a perfectly valid cover for saying any disgusting thing.

I clicked through the Ana Valens video because I just wanted to hear the unmodified clip from the podcast, and it's not available (that I could find).

Some noteworthy things:

• Ana Valens made this 'joke' multiple times, lol. Like, the "breeding farm" tweet is a riff on one of their earlier tweets about "macaroni in a pot"...which was basically a multi-tweet thread the exact same scenario, stated slightly differently, also on twitter.
  
• They also try to blame the jokes on WAP...y'know, the song. Because...well I'm not sure why and they don't really explain.
  
• In response to some of Katie Herzog's commentary, Ana Valens addresses her directly and refers to "our community" 
  
• They go to great lengths to say it's a joke, not a sexual fantasy, but then end their video by talking about all of the trans women who actually DO have this specific fantasy and love the idea of breeding and, in fact, some of her "breeding content" is her most popular and best selling.

I'm not a plane expert but I imagine hiding secret kill switches nobody will find is probably not possible. I would have dismissed the rumor on those grounds, but this guy is telling everybody he not only believes it but he would have accepted the planes and kill switches if Trump wasn't acting like such a jerk about Greenland. (I should note, again, since Trump did this in his first term and Conan even went to Greenland because of it.)

WHICH IS ANOTHER THING, Denmark can't stop the US from taking Greenland militarily and throwing a few F-35's at such an invasion would be stupid. Kill switches would be a good thing in that case because they'd still have the planes rather than their being shot down the instant they come close to the US fleet.

We will be okay in that regard, it's been a question of priorities. American didn't wrest our security obligations from us, we freely offered them up. The expertise and capability exists, in the long run, it's American hegemony that suffers. 

If us, the french and the germans get our acts together then America will lose ground and maybe get beaten for innovation. 

The british ruled the world and played global policeman for three times as long as America has at this point, we know what we're doing (providing we keep the russian backed parties away from power)

It's been in america's interests to keep Europe defanged as long as it has, and paving the way for that coming back is a big mistake for lots of reasons if you're american
