So I occassionaly hang out with this group and the only one black person with white people and one person who is an acquaintance did something twice that I was unsure about. This person (a white woman and a lesbian) once fondly talked about how they drunkly grabbed a boob while a teenager and then another time how at a party they were following a woman at a party drunkenly and then fell into their chest while drunk.

The reason I feel unsure in these cases is that in both cases since the person was drunk, them being so intimate with another person's chest raises questions of consent and the fact they later admitted it was an accident shows to me there was no consent involved with the other person. In that cases what that person did to me seems to veer a bit into sexual harrassment/assault and them fondly joking/talking about seemd a bit off to me as if I were in her situation I wouldn't look back at these cases fondly.

Review threads, particularly for console exclusive titles, are absolute nightmares. It doesn't matter which platform, it's just a tornado of narratives, console warring, fanboy sniping and people trying to provoke another meltdown post they can copypasta for the next few years. Nobody actually cares about the content of the reviews themselves, it's all about supporting whatever narrative the poster already had in their brain before they came into the thread. It's why I generally try to avoid them nowadays.

Like, as someone who used to actually write game reviews, looking at review threads and seeing the lion's share of the posts in them being about literally anything except the actual content of the reviews the thread is supposed to be about makes me really sad. What's the point of reviews if all they really exist for is so idiots on the internet can measure their metascore dicks against each other?

Sure, if we go off the generally applied label of terrorism being any political action, violent or not, that the US government does not agree with. In that sense it's good terrorism, one that strikes terror in the hearts of the capitalist class.

It also makes it clear that at least some of the people doing it aren't doing it for altruism or ideological reasons; it's worth watching and I won't spoil it, but it makes it super fucking clear that at least some of the participants are in it for their own entirely selfish motivations, like clout chasing or revenge.

The funny thing about the discord is that there's a lot of early era concern trolls that have evened out. They're a lot less active with that shit on era and it doesn't fly on the discord. Era has such a fundamental problem with moderation. Yeah. It's complicated at the very least. I do think a lot of this stuff is coming from a good place, you know? Like it makes sense to say "trans actors should play trans characters" or "non-binary actors should play non-binary characters" because the root of the concern is the same. But in practice they aren't 1:1 situations to the similar conversations over ethnicity and race and as we've seen multiple times it's very easy to trip up and not realize the negative effects of the thing you thought you were doing good with.

At the very least I hope in the future we can find a better way to express the desire for more LGBT+ actors to get big roles and for LGBT+ characters to be depicted accurately without harassing closeted people who were taking roles to express or experiment with a part of themselves through what should otherwise be a safe outlet.

In a thread about a queer man coming out, you folks just instantly had to jump on trans women having feelings about how they are represented huh.
