The day I started playing WoW a friend of mine had me join his server and guild.

There was an annoying college boy in the guild chat that was always so excited to be talking to everyone and was constantly drinking in game liquor so he could make "yesh I dranksh a bit" jokes with the auto text.  I'm currently working on revising a first draft of a novel I wrote back in November 2020. It has a trans girl who is the protagonist of the second half the book. She's a teenager living in the UK and it openly talks about Rowling's transphobia. Here, from that first draft, is such a moment.

Nearly two years later, Kyuuji created this thread in part to hopefully prevent the need to keep explaining to people that Rowling was a bigot plain and simple. That what she was doing was harming trans people all over the world. That she was willful in her actions. That these views are consistent with other views that shine through in her work.

I know that her work meant a lot to some of you growing up. But you are adults now. Hey, it's okay, it wasn't your fault you liked the wizard movies or books.  She is the person you should be angry at for damaging something from your childhood.  She had every chance to grow and learn, and chose not to.

You don't have to follow her example. Be better than her and let it go.

I don't wish to undermine my point, but this really does remind me somewhat of the first Pokemon movie plot, without consideration for the life they would create, they've for lack of a better term "played god" and also, is there not risk of new diseases that modern mammals aren't ready coming as a result of something like this? Biology is a very fragile and complex thing, in current times, I don't much relish such a possibility.

I feel I should say that I am one such person that had a identity based around those books as a child, white kid, black hair, glasses, facial scar, I had multiple halloween costumes as harry growing up and I got into the books some time after a suicide attempt in 2nd grade and wished I would get a letter. Despite all of this when her views started to be come clear anything for the terf wizard went in the trash or a box. The only reason why the books got boxed and not garbage is the emotional value of receiving them as gifts from people that are passed. and a golden snitch my mom made me for a costume that is now just a zelda fairy in my mind. I actively took vernacular that I would regularly use and de Pottered it. And because of my near encyclopedic knowledge of the books have been accused of ruining magic for people when I point out how problematic the books are and how ingrained her hate is in them.

So yes this post is 100% right. Its not our fault she is trash, but we absolutely should not give this vile piece of trash any more power or mind share then we already have. She is an active harm to real people and needs to be stopped and that wont happen by holding dear to 7 books.
