The thing you were taught in elementary school about XX being female and XY being male is an oversimplified lie for children. The actual sex people develop into is a very complicated interplay of several different genetic and hormonal factors (and probably other things I don't know about, not being a biologist) that literally includes, like for one example, a gene that blocks one sex chromosome from working, and then another gene that blocks that gene to determine which gene actually gets to do things. Anywhere in the chain can be funky and not do what's expected.

To say nothing of intersex people or of the many animal species that literally change sexes even more than once throughout their lifetimes. Actual biologists are moving toward an understanding of sex as a spectrum rather than a binary for exactly these reasons. Reality is complex and the anti-intellectualism that tries to force it to not be only causes massive harm to everyone in the long run.

You know when other animals change sex… there are PHYSICAL changes seen that occur NATURALLY.

What's left to say really. Shithole country isn't worthy of the land it sits on. I'm not really sure how they expect this to actually work but then again I don't think anyone really thinks about that. A trans woman getting married can't use the changing rooms at the bridal shop? Trans mother can't go to a mother-child support group with her child. It extends far beyond just using the toilet at work, which itself was dangerous and stupid to suggest we should use the men's.

Least I made the right decision cancelling the appointment I'd waited months for, for a private dysphoria diagnosis. That's £600 saved which never made sense to begin with. I have C cup breasts, I don't need to pay someone to tell me I'm trans. No sense continuing the GRC process I was part-way through either. Whole bunch of wasted time and effort there. Seems there's no recourse for trans women to be seen as women legally anymore.

I'm fortunate enough to pass to most people, pre-surgery, but even then I'm not going to live my life dependant on whether some random clocks me and I risk going to a men's prison. Fuck that. Equally not about to go into a men's bathroom because that's awkward for everyone, especially while I've had zero issues with women and spaces throughout my transition. So… fuck knows honestly.

All I'm really left with is looking to leaving the country I guess. Earliest feasible opportunity would be 2027 due to my father's health, so I guess I'll start planning.

Sex is binary in humans. Other animals are irrelevant but even they continue to be binary in sex, they change to the other sex and are only one sex at a time. Changing your sex, which humans cannot do, does not change that sex is binary.

We know sex is binary for two reasons:
1. There is no third sex.
2. Reproduction only happens with both sexes.

We know sex can't be a spectrum for one reason:
1. Define the spectrum.

Also notice, and this is important because we've seen trans advocates constantly fail at this, that a spectrum has two poles. Sex being a spectrum means there are two sexes: male and female and that each value on the spectrum defines you either towards 100% male or 100% female. Ignore that this is just misogynistic and MRA type rhetoric reworked into a spectrum, but you yourself are not saying there's a third sex, instead that all people are both male and female. They aren't, they're one or the other. You're confusing masculine and feminine gender traits for sex traits. They aren't. That's misogyny. You're anti-feminist.

Genetic/hormonal factors despite being repeated by two posters here are not what determines sex, sex is hardcoded in your DNA in the womb. You do not start expressing opposite sex traits by messing with your hormones, you express as your sex with a hormone imbalance. We know what their propaganda is based on, it's based on that small moment after conception before full fetal development begins in which the expression of the genetic traits creates a hormone surge that determines the sex of the fetus. You can't reproduce this by slightly altering your hormone balance, especially years after puberty. You can't even do it before puberty despite the obsession with stopping it.

It's also hilarious that they're arguing that is all so complex and not so simple, when they're doing the exact opposite. They focus on one set of hormones, the sex hormones. They claim that simply knocking this natural balance out of whack "transitions" you to the other sex. They claim whacking off their dicks or tits "transitions" you to the other sex. They claim growing longer hair, being emotional, being a lesbian, being fat, etc. does the same. They're the ones rejecting complexity and material reality for a simplistic linguistic priority.

These people are so obsessed with the pleasure aspect of sex that they've forgotten or never understood its entire purpose. Reproduction. Which is what defines our sexual biology. Additionally, ultimately what their real problem is is a continued problem that forum has. A confusion of system evaluation for a moral one. They believe saying someone is male is a moral condemnation, therefore it's offensive to make this entirely non-moral evaluation of them.

This is why they try to leverage intersex people by claiming they're a third sex while ignoring that intersex people now go by the term DSD for this exact reason. Intersex people, or people who can't reproduce for some other reason, are wrong in the systemic sense of biology. They cannot fulfill its purpose. They confuse this for a moral condemnation of them as people, saying that if you can't reproduce you're morally wrong in some way. You can see they believe this whenever they talk about having children, but I digress. This, like their opinion about males or women or white people or anything else, is their own projection of their own moral hangups. They believe everyone else must be saying those people are morally wrong because they believe everyone confuses these two things.

They can't divorce these two because it underlies too much of their ideological commitment which creates their localized social position. They obtain local social power through moral condemnation. The prominent members are all the most strident moral critics in a forum culture that prioritizes moral condemnation over all other factors. The incoherence of the forum's positions is tied to the personal moral approval of the prominent members.

As they've made so much of their personality a constant negative immediate refrain of "ugh men" and "sounds about white" they cannot back down. Existing in a social system that prioritizes this gives them additional justification not to. The same applies to PlanetSmasher's need to reply to every single thread with a complaint.
