I remember playing Destiny 1 on Xbox One, thinking it was neat and had great potential but still the concept needed a lot of work.

Little did I know most developers would use that as the blueprint for shooters going forward. I think it's half the reason why so many Destiny type games like Anthem failed because the foundation was so poor. Everyone has been making abysmal Destiny clones up until Redfall.

It's amazing how badly Bungie has consistently fucked up Destiny yet it's still going over 10 years later:

• development hell basically throughout it's entire lifespan (story being rebooted and starting from scratch a year before launch)
  
• shitacular game engine 
  
• Bungie having no idea how to balance their game whatsoever (constant cycle of releasing overpowered abilities/weapons, player base complains, nerfing overpowered abilities/weapons, player base complains, buffing underpowered weapons that were previously nerfed etc. etc.
  
• balancing the game based on what their beloved streamers wanted out of the game
  
• content releases being substantially worse when they left Activision (losing the help of support studios Vicarious Visions and High Moon Studios)
  
• DLC being previously cut content
  
• literally removing ("""vaulting""") content people had paid for and it never being seen again, the original campaign can't be played in full
  
• new player experience is hostile as fuck. Even as a lapsed player it's incomprehensible.
  

I put hundreds of hours into D1 and D2 but quit years ago not long after Beyond Light. It's basically running on fumes now and the only people that still play are the hardcore whales.

DS was weird too though. I still don't understand why it did so well. Most games were mid or downright bad even Nintendo IPs like Yoshi Touch & Go and Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.

The graphics weren't good and neither were the screens. Control wise it was a mess. The Stylus worked ok I guess.

I will join you in thinking the DS was amazingly overrated.

…but I strangely have a positive opinion of the thumb pad/strap thing that even nintendo gave up on. played Mario 64 for the first time ever entirely with the thumb pad. I got all the stars, and absolutely loved it.

The DS was literally Nintendo handheld games plus the mobile gaming market without the annoying ads and pay-to-win mechanics.

Some really cool experimentation happened on the DS. Anyone who didn't find worthy experiences probably should have moved past the mainstream titles and explored the really cool niche stuff that launched consistently throughout the lifecycle.

Guess i just want to rant a bit, i work at a place i hate, mostly just sticking around for the contract and planning to get out of there after 6 months, it's a butcher shop and there are 3 boxes with cash, two for cashiers and an extra one in case we need some thing for change, but supposed to replace the money afterwards.



Well, a colleague this morning needed more 50 Cent coins, went there, and saw the extra box being kinda empty and realized there were 90 Euros missing and, of course, called the bosses, and counted my own which had almost 20 Extra euros than supposed to because...well, i counted badly, didn't help that Saturday i also fucked up with the change so there was some money missing that i had to pay with my own wallet but now just looks worse...



The thing is, i haven't needed to touch that extra box in weeks, i haven't used it or touched it at all, the issue is...the safe isn't exactly under surveillance as far as i know, and the keys to the boxes are in a place every worker can get to, technically everyone had the chance and knowledge of how to swipe 90 Euros from there.



But i am the guy who just fucked up and had extra money that wasn't sent to the main place in his own box, i don't think miscounting will be accepted, i am also the guy that has only been there since December while everyone else has been around for years...mostly because they can't get anyone else to stick around as most people avoid working there or really don't last long at all, to a point where some were suprised i came in for more than a day, so i am absolutely the new guy while everyone else has been around for ages and supposedly more trustworthy.



I think the only grace is that apparently 90 Euros went missing before i arrived before, but everyone was talking to me and the bosses didn't come talk to me yet and i just...have no idea what happened to that money, i swear i didn't touch that damn box and haven't used it in weeks at all, but i am one of the 3 that regularly uses them even if it's just my own, another is on vacation and the other was the one that reported the theft so...my God, it just looks bad, i only hope they remember that everyone could have done it.



...Kinda, there was a 4th person, a temporary worker that did some shifts to replace the one on vacation and she absolutely used the extra box, even carried it downstairs rather than leaving it behind on the safe, but rather than say anything, i just spent the whole day panicking and worried because it really felt like i was the main suspect and only remembered this later, tomorrow i bet i get a visit from the boss or accountant that i really don't want.



God, i just hate this job, i will hate it more if i get accused of stealing or i become unable to put this into my resume out of fear the company would say i was a robber to future employers, job market isn't exactly gr
