Looked at his channel. Good number of views in the 150k-400k range with a couple bigger outliers but he puts out about 2-6 videos/year. No livestreams.

Doesn't seem like he tried very hard to be a YouTuber.

His Patreon also sits at 3k per month. Wonder if he reported that income. All in all it looks like they guy had a pretty comfy gig but somehow messed it up big time.

This is the logic of Keynesian economics. The entire concept of aggregate demand and modern central banking is based around this idea, that it's the job of the central bank and government policy to force people to spend what they'd otherwise save or invest. ZIRP was this concept openly, that by pushing the interest rate to zero or negative nobody would hold their money as it loses value so they'll spend it on shit like video game forums to aggregate the user count to sell to other people who need some place to stick money before it loses its value.

The entire goal literally is to frontload all spending to the immediate moment because "in the long run, we're all dead."

It's not in the General Theory (not that anyone has ever actually read it) but Keynes in his other writing explained that he felt the concept of delayed gratification was illogical because you could just have pleasure now and then have more pleasure later rather than spending all your time waiting to have less pleasure. There is no melodramatic thinking that killing another person is the worst thing someone can do even if Ellie already kill a lot of people, the moment you have a choice in Ellie's shoe and is not definetely an act of own defense, the answer is always no. You could argue that Ellie lives in a world that killing is trivialized and if you were in her shoes, you would have kill Abby but not even Ellie (being a monster) killed Abby so you deciding that killing Abby is the choice, are worst person that Ellie in the same context if we are playing the game of context, but that is not even the point of the thread because you are who you are because of your memories and experiences so you have to decided with your morals and if your morals is an eye for an eye then you are really fucked up, I'm sorry (not talking specifically at you)

Right, I get you don't mean me specifically. I think it is melodramatic because, to many people, the game didn't leave as much of an impact on them, or it did leave an impact but in a different way, such as never forgiving or empathizing with Abby for killing Joel. Even if the game had been (in my opinion) perfectly, heart wrenchingly written, I imagine there would be people who might not be so moved.

I get that we can disagree about this, about writing quality, etc, but it feels extreme to me to lose hope in humanity based on how some people react to a game (or a book, or a film). Based on how people actually behave, though, that would make sense to me.

People that voting for killing Abby is just fucked up to be honest, lacking in anything considered empathy. What the game was trying to do completely failed for these people.

Maybe I am undestanding the debate as if it was a real situation in a hypothetical TLOU2 real world and you have to make the decision, maybe I am having a real debate about the meaning of killing and vengance and not just trivializing the situation but seeing how many people say they'd kill a human being in not own defense is really hard

I genuinely don't see how you can see it as a plot hole that Ellie changes her mind, that you can't see how all of the killing had its toll on her, how it makes perfect sense for her to end her spree because she finally came to terms with the fact that she didn't want revenge, but to come to terms with her own mistake in not forgiving Joel.

When I see posts from people saying "it doesn't make sense, I would've killed Abby", it just makes me sad and upset.

I was expecting 90% would agree with the current game ending. But 32% wanting to kill Abby? You guys should be ashamed by yourselves lol.
