Also wtf is up with the Strange World hit? It makes it sound like the movie bombed only because a character in it was gay, and Chapek should have listened to the board member who warned him about that.

No. The article mentioned BOTH having a character being gay and the film not being good enough for Disney standards (in the corpo perspective). And yes, corporations wants to win money and not lose it. The article seems to imply they released just because they didn’t want another shitstorm with the LGBT community.

You don’t need to fell bad for anybody in this, btw.

There was a collective groan. Iger quickly realized he'd unintentionally brought the subject of race into a light awards dinner. After the ceremony, he found Newton and apologized. He spoke with her for about an hour the next day, too, and called almost 20 Black executives who had been in the room that day to apologize. Iger called Arnold, too, to explain what happened.

"Bob apologized to me afterwards and we had an honest and productive conversation," Newton said in a statement. "I forgave him. Bob has a long, irrefutable track record as a champion for inclusion and we continue to enjoy a positive relationship today. I consider him a friend."

Sorry but is this not weird?

Imagine sitting in a room with 19 other black employees. Asking around what this is for. Then the CEO walks in and makes a collective apology for a dud joke at a jokey ceremony. I get if he’s trying to cover his ass and PR advised him. But how isn’t it incredibly patronizing to the 20 executives? Walt will be furious to read this once he’s thawed out.

In other words, how exactly do these dudes think Americans defeated the most powerful military in the world in the first place? The British won pretty much every actual battle. lol

If there one thing you can guarantee about Americans it's that most of them don't understand their own history.

This is aside from the fact that the CEO and maybe a couple aides touring around is less of a disruption than if the king brings his entire court to the village.

The fact that they were going to do it without having to wait in line makes it so they wouldn't have general familiarity with shit anyway.

Why is this concern trolling but not the "concern" that actors are being exploited? Especially when the latter is just really about them not wanting to see any sort of nudity as the very same members also get upset about any videogame nudity

Quote:Embarrassing. I know some consoles "fake install" and will, like, queue up a digital download as soon as you put the disc in, but for MOST games you can get around that by just installing the disc with your console set to offline mode.

Flat-out just providing an incomplete and unplayable version of your game on disc begs the question of why they even bothered to print a disc version at all.

Gamers really need to stop being soy boomers. When Crysis fried your GPU that was awesome. When a new GPU came out and you could play it at 25fps instead of 20fps, holy shit guys I need this fucking thing. Now they cry because Starfield does not run on an asinine  HDD - 8GB - 8700k - RTX4090 combo.

Also 30 - 60fps at 1440p is fine for games like these on a PC monitor. The ADD patients all need their 120 fps hit or something in 4k while also running recording software.

My RTX 2070 Super is starting to age and considering I got it 4 years ago that's actually what I want, a raising of the bar in technology.

Kudo's for Todd for telling folks to buy new PC's and stop being soys OH!

Also we're finally catching up on the CPU side. Because the Xbox One and PS4 CPU's were so fucking shit (AMD really shit the bed with that Jaguar) games didn't really improve with physics and other CPU heavy stuff. Only the early next-gen games like AC: Unity and Destiny 1 tried to do that with very poor results and the games released at the tail end of the generation like CONTROL and Cyberpunk (again with expected very poor results).

In some cases they even went backwards with interactivity (like Gears of War) giving more priority to graphics because that's the one thing they could improve or they left the physics as a PC only 'premium' feature (like METRO).

We're now seeing more CPU heavy scenes and features in games return and the worlds are less static because the Xbox Series and PS5 have far better CPU's.
That's why older i7's and Ryzens are quickly becoming useless to play modern games.

Not saying the game isn't optimized, but there is certainly (depending on who to believe) room for improvement. And I am sure they will with upcoming patches and all.
