Yeah, I will say, unfortunately, this does seem like the case from my experience. Yes, pretty much everyone slips and acts toxic sometimes, but it seems as if for one reason or another there are certain people or circumstances under which it's allowed or at least not acted-on.

Not to take away from your larger point, but to clarify, I was referring to staff.

If they don't want users to be "jerks", maybe they should start by setting an example. Especially since no one can hold them accountable via bans and such.

The last few years of my life have been a struggle, highlighted by my impending divorce and two suicide attempts. After getting out of the hospital last November, I started to hide from the world, and it was alright for a few months. I was focusing on the things I love (watching movies and sports, reading books) without the wrench that interacting with other people can throw into the mix.
Things shifted earlier this year. I had to put my dog to sleep, and that set off the dark thoughts that had previously been so prevalent. I started considering suicide again, and knew I needed to start socializing or I wouldn't be able to pull myself out of this hole. But it was incredibly difficult to be with people. Even when I was with my best friends I felt out of place, like I had forgotten how to just hang out.
I desperately needed human interaction but quickly became exhausted and overstimulated when I was with people. So I turned to OnlyFans.
I searched for models who had recently created their accounts or seemed to have few followers because I thought that would increase my chance of being able to chat directly to them. A lot of popular models use an agency to deal with talking to their followers because they don't have time to do it themselves. Was I tricked into talking to an agency when I thought I was talking to a real person? Maybe, but that doesn't really matter.
What does matter is that I was interacting with people. OnlyFans served as training wheels for me to start socializing again. I was able to talk -- about real stuff and silly stuff -- with women who at least feigned interest, and that boosted my confidence and got me out of my antisocial shell. Yeah, I would pay them for pictures or videos, but that wasn't even the point. I cared a lot more about the conversation than whatever they were selling, so I was really paying for their time and attention.
And spending a few weeks doing this completely shifted my mindset. I've started dating again, interacting with real women in the real world like a real person should. And I can also just hang out with the people in my life in a way that I wasn't able to before. It's so much easier spending time with my son or having dinner with my mom now. It's like OnlyFans was a gateway to reenter society again.
I honestly have no idea what would have happened if I didn't reach out to strangers on OnlyFans. It really seemed like I was going to die soon, or at least attempt suicide again, so I don't think it's an exaggeration to say a stupid porn site helped save my life. Crazy shit, huh?

I was a podcast early adopter. This American Life, the 1up Network podcasts (RIP), OG Giant Bomb, and various others based on my interests. I used to load these on my iPod nano (core memory unlocked!). People often forget that the term "podcast" originated from iPod, which had podcast functionality built into iTunes.

Now, podcasts are mainstream. Every celebrity now has one.

I still listen to them, but I'm not a completionist with them. I check the description, and if it doesn't interest me, I skip it.

I loved the Castro podcast app since it was built with this methodology in mind. You built a queue of things you want to listen to.

However, I moved more to audiobooks and music these days. Around 20 percent of the time is spent on podcasts now.

I've heard of many cases involving transwomen being raped or being victims of sexual violence, and i've heard just about as many cases of transwomen being rapists, but i've never heard a case where a transwoman got raped by another transwoman. While that's a good thing obviously it's depressing that despite all the progress we've made in the trans community some trans people still don't see other trans women as women.
