Which brings me back to my thesis that a lot of people (m/f) willingly want to be sluts because it takes no effort.

sorry buddy, there's no such thing as left-wing authoritarianism

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Authoritarianism

notice how there's no link to left-wing authoritarianism?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right-wing_authoritarianism

if you try to go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left-wing_authoritarianism it redirects to the same article:

Quote:In political philosophy, the classic definition of left-wing describes somebody who advocates social equality and right-wing describes somebody who advocates social hierarchy. The existence of the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China raised the question of whether there is such a thing as "left-wing authoritarians", since these countries were highly authoritarian yet also left-wing.[38] This article concerns itself with the concept of authoritarianism as a psychological construct rather than a political ideology. The question that psychologists therefore asked was whether authoritarian individuals in communist countries are psychologically the same as right-wing authoritarians in America, or whether they are different enough to warrant a distinct category of their own.

wait...this article...this article called "right-wing authoritarianism" doesn't look at it as a political ideology?

did the article used to have a different name and this particular passage was never edited to reflect the change in tone?

No, The Authoritarian Personality was solely concerned with identifying the personality traits of fascists aka all conservatives.

Most literature would never even investigate "left-wing" authoritarianism because the authors would consider that to be an oxymoron. If there's anything it would focus on Stalinism as the specific and only ever deviation which was caused entirely by him and has nothing to do with left-wing systems of government.

There's lots of academic writing that considers a state/society where every aspect of your life is completely controlled and planned for you with you having no say in anything as one of greater freedom than the United States because perceived freedom in the US (or West) is an illusion of a super advanced authoritarian system.

Writing articles about Taylor Lorenz tweets is silly but I'm amused how she complains about missing context when it's all really in the headline

Ice showing up in full military gear looks so over the top. What is their plan here, going full auto on a crowd of people?

Just idiots playing dress up

That's how almost all American law enforcement does anything. Since they're feds though ICE probably gets their own stuff instead of hand me downs.

I'm on my phone so I can't see but one of them has gear that says police. I'm not saying it can't be ice but it's probably local law enforcement because they would be the ones that would arrest them and do crowd control.

And if they're a special response unit, yes they come all dressed up. When you do crowd control, it's not like you think to yourself. Oh they're a bunch of liberals. We can go in t-shirts and flip flops.

It's likely both, feds use local law enforcement as part of everything. You'll almost never see FBI/DEA/DOE/DHS/etc. operating somewhere without local law enforcement except in some specific cases. (Like arresting all of local law enforcement for federal crimes.)

The funny thing is that if I expect anyone to just drive over some dumb libs blocking their path, it's local law enforcement not feds or state. lol

I'm surprised they were popping tear gas though. Wasn't enough though. You really got to smoke people out with that stuff. It's not as bad as pepper spray. Believe me, I've been through both and tear gas is way better than pepper spray. But not while you're standing in a cloud or it. Being a cloud of tear gas is like if you took fresh ground pepper in your hand and just snorted it. As soon as you inhale it burns and your mucus starts going into overdrive. In training we had to go through it and they videotape it so you can watch it for fun afterwards. And we got to see a guy with a snot rope that went from his nose to the ground. One continuous snot rope. It was gross and hilarious

Once you're out of the tear gas, you will clear up pretty quick, pepper spray on the other hand. You're fucked for a while depending on where you got it

By the way, that was terrible crowd control. You don't even want to know how poorly trained law enforcement is now compared to the '90s when I was in. I'm still friends with some people in law enforcement. It's a total joke. The only care that you're a warm body and will show up to work. I'm not joking. I was trained better as a correctional officer for longer and harder in the '90s than what current deputies and peace officers need to be certified for. I don't even want to get into it.

If you call law enforcement for anything you got a 50/50 chance that the officer you're talking to is an absolute complete moron and has no business wearing a badge.

It's funny watching their demeanor.

They abso fucking lutely have no experience in gear and creating a zone.

Unlike power tripping cops, this appears to be filled with first rodeos. (That's a good thing so far)

They're using a law that lets local cops act as fed support.

color me retarded, but until now I thought Aaron Rupar was enough of a "journalist" to understand why something like this would be worth reporting on, even if it hurts "your side".

Guess not!

The boxer story is making news again with there being a leaked test result from 2023 that confirms she has XY chromosomes

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/boxing/2025/06/01/imane-khelif-medical-report-proves-biological-male/

Quote:Imane Khelif’s sex-test results from the 2023 World Championships have been published for the first time, with the medical report appearing to indicate that the boxer is biologically male.

Just 36 hours after World Boxing ruled that Khelif, a hugely controversial Olympic champion in women’s boxing at last summer’s Paris Games, would need to undergo sex screening to be eligible for any future appearances in the female category, the document at the heart of this extraordinary saga was released into the public domain.

Alan Abrahamson, the American journalist who disclosed in Paris how the International Olympic Committee (IOC) had been warned more than a year earlier that Khelif had the DNA of a “male”, produced the result of a test carried out on the boxer in New Delhi in March 2023, triggering the boxer’s disqualification from the championships that year.

The document published on the 3 Wire Sports website summarises the findings on Khelif as “abnormal”, stating: “Chromosome analysis reveals male karyotype.” A karyotype refers to an individual’s complete set of chromosomes, which in Khelif’s case has been reported by the International Boxing Association (IBA) as being XY, the male pattern.

The test results carry the letterhead of Dr Lal Path Labs in New Delhi, accredited by the American College of Pathologists and certified by the Swiss-based International Organisation for Standardisation. This directly challenges the account of IOC spokesman Mark Adams, who in a tense news conference at the Paris Olympics described the results as “ad hoc” and “not legitimate”.

I guess there's still some grain of salt to any leaked test but the World boxing organization also ordered a sex test if she wants to keep competing. I guess whether she'll do that or refuse will then speak for itself.
