Went to an anime and gaming rave. Met up with some cool dudes and they took me to a club open later and soon enough I was all by myself. Pretty sure some ladies actively ran away from me various points in the night. Got the Switch 2 today and honesty would have been better off staying home. Pretty much resigned to never love again after being with someone for 15+ years. Life is cruel.

there's a big difference between a woman choosing to dress herself in that way when she has full agency and ownership over her own body and sexuality, and a game presenting women that way. especially because it defines the type of playerbase you'll have.

i'm usually not someone who hesitates to use VC or text chat, but Rivals has cultivated an absolutely vile fanbase to where i've faced more abuse in that game in ~20 hours than I ever faced in League of Legends or Overwatch, which is saying something especially in League of Legends. I flat out don't speak in VC in Rivals. It's not hard to think part of that is because of the some of the type of people it's courting.

You would not believe the discussions we end up having when it comes to these things, because we understand the "optics" of it - "yeah, the person is right, and there's a lot of good info/arguments in their post(s), and they're speaking from their lived experience, but it's surrounded by them being a total jackass to other users."  Believe me or not, but it IS something we try to take into account.  But if that member is derailing everything and just slinging stones everywhere, sometimes we have to do something for the sake of the thread.  It has nothing to do with who they are, it's about what they are doing.

If you think someone is sealioning or trolling in some other way, you can report it.

Why did he include this at all? Who is he even referring to here? It can't be Nepenthe... they certainly didn't take action "for the sake of the thread" or otherwise, and posters can't report mods which ties into the repeated requests to treat mods like normal users (such as being able to ignore them, which would have completely solved this specific scenario). 

As an aside, my wife is similar [...] that often ends up with her coming across as abrasive, loud, and more or less a pain in the ass at work. She means well, and I love her for her passion, but because she also knows her shit, she gets frustrated by the speed of change (or rather, the lack thereof) and the reticence to change, which, well, you know. It doesn't come out in the most productive ways. I'm usually there to help her get her message across in other ways, or at least helping her prioritize the things she wants to affect.
