The Summer Dorito Pope Show was terrible but:

Meh. There's a few things that I'm interested in, but they're getting predictable. Retro-revival #1, retro-revival #2, 2.5D adventure platformer, and not much more. The majority of the new games it wasn't even clear what genre they were.

Do we really need that many grimdark mega violent horror Souls-likes? Do we need that much generic anime titty gacha nonsense? The inspirations are so blatant: hey, Souls-likes are cool so here's another ten Souls-likes, hey, Hades was cool so here's another ten isometric hack'n slash roguelikes, hey, Cuphead was cool so now everything is early 1900's animation, hey, what about a new zombie shooter, hey, someone thought Concord was going to be a thing so here's another retro-inspired garish F2P hero shooter. At least CG studios are getting work, because there was like ten minutes of actual gameplay across that show.

The only real "whoah" moment was the muppet Punch Out. That was something original, at least.

She genuinely made me question if the game was actually RE9 when I tuned in mid-stream because of how…stylised(?) she looks. Like Claire, Jill, Mia, etc. are all very pretty and a good bit more "perfect" looking than most of the guys are in modern RE but she looks like a step farther than most of them do. I think Ashley in 4 is probably the closest any other modern RE character comes but she's also a teenager so I kinda gave her some leeway for looking a bit more doll faced and smooth skinned.
