The personal trainer has open spots and send me an intake form, so we're off to the races OH!

Why be only intelligent, funny and cunning when I can also be strong.
I've applied for 2 sessions a week. Time to Rip and tear.

My latina is already simping. She had a good job interview, thanked me for the tips I gave her.

I want the strength to kill a man with my bare hands. Crush not just minds but also skulls.

Completely dead area with bombed out looking buildings. A big pile of trash bags. Some old guy digging through said trash to find a papier mache Mickey Mouse. When I checked maps to get out of there, there was nothing. No restaurants. No convenience stores. No train stations. Clearly there were restaurants and bars around, but I guess nobody went there to list them. Bad vibes all around.
That reminds me
I'm only a 20 minute walk from skid row. Wonder if I should check it out?

Just remember, Park Avenue leads to Skid Row

Do you know how to fight? Most people won't let you crush their skull, you know.

Adjust your expectations, big dog. Crushing skulls? At your advanced age you’re looking at tendinitis lasting months after a failed attempt. Lifting somebody overhead like Bane? Very doable.

The gym is the way to all things, I wish i'd got my head around it all sooner. Push, pull, legs. Progressive overload, barbell focused, takes you about 6 months to start getting the compliments.

For a beginner, free weights and the fundamentals are the way to go.

But I’ll say, for about two months I’ve mostly been using machines and it’s made a notable difference in strength and leaning out. Specifically machines that use plates and have the lever to help start deeper. Reckon it’s psychological, because you can push until you physically can’t without worrying about injury. At the same time, I like knowing something could go wrong. Horizontal leg presses suck but when there’s the fear you’ll be crushed in the 45 degree ones, it’s nice.

Overall I hope to get in better shape. Lose the skinny look more than I already have. The personal trainer looked at the form and said it's a good starting point. He's gonna call today to ask a few more questions.

It's also the easiest thing left to fix, houses, boats, hair transplants too expensive now, upgrading my 6 - 7 teeth to 9 - 10 dental work difficult. I'm in the bottom of the top 20%, I need to be in the mid tier of the top 20%.

My friends already wonder who killed Nintex and took his place. Travel I hated more than excercise.

Covid a thing, my parents, having to fix my skin after Covid too but also drinking from 20XX - 2022. I was fun but an alcoholic. A beer at work, Vodka at home, beer at the bar, cocktails at the club, whiskey with my bro. 1AM weekend Comedy specials became MAGA rallies. I kept it neatly time boxed like those women I dated do.

The guy gave me a call, we're going to do two 1 hour sessions a week to make steady progress. First one this tuesday.
The schedule will likely be tuesday / thursday.

Again he said it was a better starting point than he is used to. Most of the time he needs to help people to stop smoking or drinking. They only eat take-out and never cook. If I don't skip and keep at it he says I should get visible results within 2 months, perhaps even quicker for certain muscle groups. Overall I think I picked the right guy, a lot of them have corny shit on their sites like: "workout with a smile",  "within your limits". He's more about exceeding your limit, becoming a better version of yourself, no injuries of course but no pain no gain.

What he told me about his rates, it's also surprisingly cheap.

Took my first autonomous waymo ride. I forgot they were Jaguars. So, I got my first autonomous ride and my first ride in whatever kind of Jaguars they use. And honestly don't think I've ever ridden in a Jaguar.

It was pretty simple. The only issue was one time it came to pick us up and a police car came by with sirens and it was parked in a good spot by the curb to avoid the cop car but the car must wanted to err on the side of caution so it pulled away and we had to walk an extra 50 ft where it found a safer spot which wasn't really safer.

Here's what a short trip look like and cost

you should be excited about it, if you stick at it for a year you will look back and think fucking hell this was awesome.

The great thing about lifting vs cardio is you don't even really need to work up a sweat or kill yourself for 40 minutes to get something back from it. Just turn up for your split 4 times a week and continue lifting heavier bit by bit until can't anymore, then re-address.

Most of my happy time is in the gym, with an audiobook. There are huge benefits to your mood and self-esteem too, things will literally just worry you less and you know that if you just go to the gym that day something positive has happened.

I'd recommend getting on the creatine early for extra mad gainz.

Ah yes, creatine. I'm already popping Ginseng and a bunch of vitamins and minerals. Might as well add that as well.
I find pills easier than powders though.

I’m sure your trainer will go over all this. Creatine monohydrate powder is dirt cheap, dissolves easily, and there’s no downside. Assuming you’ll have whey or other protein shakes, just toss the powder in there. Or in water. It doesn’t really have a taste.

If you get in the weeds about it, there’s a lot about exceeding dosages or HCL instead of monohydrate. Some claim monohydrate causes bloating. Think those arise from the loading phase thing where people take 5x the amount for the first week. That’s not really necessary. Exceeding dosages has merit but it’s usually one scoop in the morning and one at night.

I was thinking cyber implants

Got a surprising good like today. She loved my opening line and responded to keep the match but is now asleep. Mixed Indian/Dutch, very pretty.

The Latina took initiative this morning with her "morning bonitoman". Still waiting for her to pin down a date this week but she finally seems to be moving in that direction. She responded with a bunch of hearts when I told her to pick a date, I need details woman, not hearts. But I'm glad she's back to feeling in love lol

The first 12-18 months of lifting seriously were some of the best times of my life  Lawd

I've recently broken through a plateau and I'm knocking out PB weights semi-steadily again for the first time in a while.

Feels good bro

Problem is the heavier you go the more a bit of a setback gets in your head

I've never fucked with the cable machines much, at the moment I'm turning my PPL into something a bit different

Mondays I play seven a side footy outside, tuesdays and fridays I play five a side if I get the call which is not always and usually once a week max. This messes with my schedule but I still tend to get to the gym 4-5 times a week but I need rest days and I do feel tired and fatigued a lot these days (mid thirties).

If I can I like to do legs on footy day to maximise the gainz but Im doing my best to cycle through push, pull legs in the right order each week so I can spend one other day on a day where I can mix it up a bit and add in other movements so I'm not overdoing deadlifts or squats as they're fairly heavy and only getting heavier.

I started adding in assisted dips to push day and assisted pull ups to pull day. When I started I used pullups as a barometer and it worked tbh because once I could do three proper pull ups I was on my way to getting strong at the gym and I could tell. That's probably good advice for nintex, get a pull up bar at home to hang over a door and do one when you go through. If you cant do a clean pull up hang for a few weeks until you can.

Strong app to track workouts, apple watch to track calories burned for exercise, audible (currently doing Slewfoot by Brom which fucking rules so far) and the gym is time well spent.

Cable work is good because it's all connected and some movements tax certain body parts over others. Tossing in some tricep work after the main lifts doesn't add much time and feeds back into pushing more weight the next week.

Related regarding pull ups, there's a problem where people don't know how to do pull ups. They don't have their back involved. Sometimes if somebody can't do a pull up, all you need to do is say is: just hold the bar and picturing driving your elbows down and back and suddenly they can.

I'll add, resistance bands are incredibly cheap and great to assist on pull ups and dips. You can do pseudo cable work with them, too.

I thought the day after I would be broken, but I had good energy today.

The Latina is making an attempt to date tommorow after dinner. Finally. Not 100% confirmed tho.

The other girl shoots off a few messages from time to time, she likes my sense of humor and that I'm romantic, I wonder how she figured that out from my profile because I try to hide that 'red flag'. I asked if she has any hidden red flags in a funny way to see if dating her is worth the effort if it is I'll try and set a dinner date this weekend using the same playbook I used for my 1st date with the Latina.

Also get that Oral B IO AI toothbrush. I went to the dentist, she was done in 5 minutes, no plaque, no nothing. AI is taking another job.

Got accepted into art school in the UK. Life is short. Selling my car and preparing voyage.

I've written two dozen stories for a comic series I'm writing. Unfortunately I do not think America is the best audience for these stories. No capes, for instance. Europe is a better target demographic.

After so many fuck ups from our devs I'm back to developing after leaving it behind 6 months ago.
I don't know what our clown developers are doing sometimes, I fix shit in minutes but I've been vibe coding since forever so AI coding suits me.
Clients are both glad and surprised to learn that I'm fixing shit again though.

It's funny that you mention mid thirties, everyone around me is overwhelmed, emotionally drained and done as I'm locked in.

This mentality is not uncommon and manifests at different times as you age. It can be a little manic and not a bad thing. As mentioned before, the body doesn’t care. It’s easier to get injured in your 30s and recovery takes longer.

Definitely have to find a balance of grit and ego and staying pragmatic. Consistency is the best quality to have in your advanced years. But dammit you do miss those early 20s when you could push your body to its breaking point and bounce back the next day.

It's weird, I've never been nor felt this healthy. It has been steadily building over the past 2 or 3 years.

I also like feeling a bit of pain, signaling that I've pushed it. It gives me energy rather than draining it.
Not to mention it works for me when everyone around me gets weaker and I grow stronger. But that's also why I need the personal trainer to not overdo it.

My friends and co-workers are mixed on the whole thing, some think it's great others don't like the idea of me being physically strong. Partially because they don't want me to give in to "womens demands" others because I use my galaxy brain to outsmart less intelligent people without caring about morals or ethics.
