This is Newsom responding to Trump's invasion of California, and the message is pretty clear: No, no, don't criticize Trump's invasion of California and mass arresting Americans, focus on some shit about Newsom.

I don't even like Gavin Newsom, I just think it's so interesting that the coversation here is immediately, first post, about how Newsom sucks, not about Trump, not about the marines being deployed, not about Trump's ICE disappearing people, and every post has to start with "I don't like Newsom, but..." It's really a phenomenon. "Democrats can't message!" And then a Democrat gets the message right, "No, no, no, not that Democrat!"

It's a quiet day on TheBore, and on ResetEra, but there's actually a nice little drama stirring up from that thread. I'll document it. First, a little backstory (Screenshots below)

MindsEye is an absolute disaster of a game.

What makes MindsEye 'unique' is that it's made by a new studio called 'Build a Rocket Boy'.

'Build a Rocket Boy' is founded by a guy named Leslie Benzies. Leslie Benzies is somewhat of an anonymous legend in the videogame industry as he was one of the original producers of 'Grand Theft Auto', along with Dan and Sam Houser. For many years he was President of Rockstar North. The list of games he produced from 2000 onwards speak for themselves, including producing the first Red Dead Redemption and EVERY GTA from GTA III onwards, all the way to GTA V:

So yeah, the games he produced have made billions of dollars. However, in 2014 he was fired from Rockstar North. There was a very long, bitter and acrimonious fallout which ended in a settlement 4 years later, in 2018. MindsEye is the first game he's produced from his new studio and it's just a mess of a game. It's quite bizarre that the game is such a disaster, considering Leslie Benzies pedigree.

Very concerned about the third person option. There is going to be a compromise and one perspective will suffer. Designing assets around both will have been a pain in the ass, though it's not like VII and Village didn't have some questionable assets.

I'm keeping my expectations thoroughly in check until they reveal Leon or whichever legacy characters will be the "draw" since they can't have faith in a new woman protagonist.
