I just got a targeted Israeli propaganda ad on YouTube spinning this attack on Iran. I reported the ad in an attempt to get this shit off my feed, and took a screenshot showing the ad from "Israel's Foreign Affairs Ministry" is classified as "Books and Literature."

Is there any other country that gets this kind of pass for naked propaganda in the United States?

It's a bad take, and a frustrating amount of Iranians hold that mindset. They really think Iran can't end up like Syria / Lebanon / Gaza / Afghanistan / Iraq and nothing you say will disavow them of that opinion. Strikes on civilian infrastructure are not okay.

That being said I extend extra grace to Iranians who are living under the terror of the Islamic Republic if they're not able to see past their hatred of the regime and have a reasonable take. It's understandable to just want the regime GONE.

I always loathed iranian dictatorship. These days I learned a lot about Israel, that for instance, they took down every peaceful government in Gaza and they raised and funded Hamas dictatorship. I'm sorry for the helplessness a repressed population feels, and warn that Israel is not an ally, if they implement a puppet govt, the long run will be even worse.

One Iranian I know told me that military operation conducted by USA is the only way to overthrow the regime. In his opinion it was necessary evil. I was extremely surprised by it, because I was assuming Iranians hate USA by default and hoping your country would be invaded by external force, regardless of circumstances, is really unusual..

There was a giant essay post somewhere in that thread trying to explain that Zionism is Western colonialism or something and the guy completely passed over that it was the Ottoman's who started Jewish immigration to the region to argue the West established Israel as a Western colony to seize the Middle East.

I can't decide if these people's refusal to talk about the Ottoman Empire is some kind of anti-West thing alone or a pre-emptive defense against criticism of current Muslim regimes.

Why would the Japanese fanbase stick around for Sony when they have almost completely abandoned them? Sony made weird decisions and moved all their focus into Western cinematic third-person games, and this generation has suffered immensely for it. I probably played 40+ games on my PS4 and got so much use out of it, because there was a diverse mix of great games. I got my PS5 in January 2021, and have completed a grand total of TWO games on it (Cyberpunk 2077 and FF7 Rebirth). Thank God for Nintendo because otherwise I would have lost almost all interest in gaming.

Ps5 has lots of games to play and much more support from 3rd parties than Nintendo and you only completed 2? Didn't name Astro Bot which is the type of game you would see from Nintendo. Do you only care about Nintendo first party games? There's so many Japanese 3rd party games that did nothing special in sales numbers in Japan so I'm not sure what Sony can do other than make a handheld.

The potential of people buying more third-party games on Nintendo keeps Sony fanboys up at night. We already saw that EA is bringing back Madden to the Switch 2 after a 13-year absence and Microsoft already said they're committed to Call of Duty releasing on Nintendo.

Really the most fascinating thing about that thread to me is how few of them seem to have any kind of pattern recognition. In just the last year and a half they've enthusiastically supported the following losers thinking they'd somehow defeat Israel:

2. Houthi's.
3. Hezbollah.
