I thought this thread was going to be about some crude Charlie Hebdo drawing. There's a huge difference between showing that in a random high school class (as has happened in France and elsewhere) and showing an old Persian painting in an Islamic art history university class. One is a targeted attack against our faith and identity while the other is a part of our history. Although personally I'm not sure I would be comfortable to look at it.

What is a targeted attack? The drawings or showing them in class ?

I'm not going to engage in this off topic derail. The bottom line is that this is one of the rare cases where the teacher in the OP didn't do this depiction out of hate.

Well, duh? Yeah, I know the Left is about it, but the actual push of the party has been on identity politics and not class politics. Much like how Republicans used to be known as ‘the party of fiscal responsibility’ if it ever really was. Neither is true now at the moment. 

I think the religious wing of the right is a better analogy - certainly when I was younger the obnoxious self apointed moral guardians dictating how people 'should' act, calling for media bans, and demanding things like advertisers withdraw their budgets from 'transgressive' media was almost exclusively a right wing phenomenon.

Nowadays, outside of blips like that whole bud light thing, its almost exclusively the New Clergy of 'leftist' woke scolds screaming for bans on heretical materials and demanding society en masse adhere to a faith based code of conduct they never signed up to.

The left has always been like this, they just didn't have much social power yet. Then they achieved dominant position across all kinds of institutions.

When you're in permanent opposition it's easy to not talk about what you're actually for.

The FNAF dlc officially released today for Dead by Daylight, one of the few multiplayer games that gets talked about on ree. Yaps, people are severely underestimating the effect that manufacturing consent has on people, and most US news institutions are eager to play the part, like yeah sure eventually the bullshit will be seen through by everyone, but not at the start.

The UK and Greece are more like "average" sized countries then the US or Iran.

Compared to America, Canada and China it seems rather small to me. I guess living a large country most other seems small in comparision. Its wild that you could fly from one side to the other in about 2 hours. I travel to New York from Calaifornia a lot so very aware of the size of the USA.

I have noticed that there’s a handful of a couple dozen posters on here with an obscene number posts that post on every topic and love the to post about things they don’t personally like. 

There’s one poster on here that in the last couple weeks has posted almost nonstop about a game that they do not like across half a dozen threads posting 30 to 40 times a day all about a game they do not like. 

My personal opinion is that a good number of people on this forum use this site as a way to get attention in a life that probably doesn’t get enough of it in the real world.  I think the inherent nature of video games attracts people with a much more introverted personality type and this is a space where they can create a persona and just go nuts. 

Also, on a really basic level way too many people on this site have an emotional attachment to video games in an unhealthy way.    some people put out real big “need to touch grass” energy.
