One thing I don't get about tankies is how they use this kind of sentence structure to imply--without fully committing--that they are somehow not part of the object to which they refer.

Booshka and his High Yield Savings Accounts would get vaporized as part of the top 10%. But he doesn't say "I chose 10% which unfortunately means I will die". Instead he gestures non-specifically away from himself, at "this forum".

It's so common, I just wonder where it comes from.

I almost couldn't believe the email when I got it. I was convinced it must be part of an arg or something. Man, this was probably one of my top most anticipated games this year if not the top. Damn. Hope everything is alright :(. Hypnospace was brilliant and I wish them all the very best in whatever they choose to do next. In the video it makes clear it was more a budgeting and managerial problem, the publisher was willing to reach a solution but it sound they couldn’t compromise to actually deliver. Most people will be pissed off if they invest money for 5 years and get not results.

I was at EB Games in Canada today, and while I think the Switch 2 version of Shadow Gens came out today or yesterday (it was late for some reason), I heard at least two people get called by an employee that their pre-order was waiting for them.

Man, this absolutely breaks my heart. Hypnospace Outlaw is flat out my favorite game of all time and I'm sure that if money was not such an obstacle Dreamsettler would have been beyond incredible. I will be there day zero for whatever the next project with the name "Jay Tholen" attached to it will be.

Again, the dude just said that they went over budget and he couldn’t manage working on with a plan on mind. Is totally a management issue resulting from doing something from passion to full time. You can see how excited he was of implementing stuff that overpaid or give it more resources than should.

They also had 5 years and two successful games, so I doubt they lacked money for most of it. I suspect that the Patreon was not only about money but pressure themselves to deliver something.
