What is going on right now is terrifying. For the second time during his two terms as president, Donald Trump has taken the US to the verge of war with the nation of Iran. He has blown up the nuclear deal meant to prevent this, assassinated a top general, and has now bombed multiple locations in Iran itself.

We get that this is frightening, we get that people are worried, but there is nothing any of us can really do here but discuss what is going on. To that effect, we have a few requests:

1. Please don't advocate for the bombing of civilians. Yes, people are angry and afraid but we don't need to be out here posting about wanting more war crimes to occur.

2. Please don't derail the thread from the actual topic. Trying to make this about the last election or a former president doesn't actually push this discussion forward in any way, shape, or form. All you are doing is starting meaningless ideological fights and pissing each other off while additionally taking focus away from a very serious and present issue.

3. Please don't fearmonger about WW3 or nuclear Armageddon. This should go without saying.

Again, we get it. This is frightening and concerning and infuriating, but that's no reason to take it out on each other or start going on about the end of the world or how war crimes should be committed.

The first point: the only people genuinely advocating for civilian bombings are the usual suspects. For all the stupidity of Trump, he didn’t bomb civilian targets.
