I often wonder what things would be like if we actually had balls and wiped out all Nazi's like we should've. Including the Nazi party in America. No refugees. No sanctuary. No Operation Paperclip. None of the turncoats that made deals. Turned to ash.

I sometimes wonder what America would be like today if the civil war had led to the Union stripping the traitor states from their right to vote instead of embracing reconciliation at the expense of Black folks and other minorities.

It's funny how these guys always think "we" had no nuanced views in the past and were extreme modern progressives even as they spend all their other time decrying all of Western history. Like, the Union were pretty much all white supremacists, their beef with the Confederates wasn't that they were racist or even that they denied voting rights or any other rights to Blacks. Does the first guy want the mass murder of millions of Germans? Does he think the "Nazi party in America" was any kind of serious thing? A lot of the views he's ascribing to "current Nazis" were views that pretty much all Americans held in 1945. Just who are these guys imagining would have been doing all this mass punishment/murder for modern Bluesky progressive reasons?

They want people to "have a discussion" entirely in private with a faceless entity that holds all power in the situation, has no responsibility as an individual and can punish them at any moment for what they say with no one having any knowledge of the "discussion" unless they run to Bluesky or Discord to expose what happened. (Which will be additionally punished.) And on behalf of other people who can't speak for themselves because they're currently banned for something they didn't do.

And they can't figure out why everyone doesn't understand how ideal this system works despite the "technical limitations"?

It was easier on the sluggish 25fps PAL version. I often find that is the difference with people finding those stages insanely difficult or manageable.
That version did miss a block at a jump though, so it was impossible to finish without an exploit.

I can not think of a more perfect example of why the community needs to be able to have an open channel to discuss moderation amongst it's users and staff than the kayos90 situation that has played out. First of all, the issue with their ticket is that they once again are someone who sent in a ticket asking for the ban to be explained to them and trying to have a dialogue about it. They were given a response that did neither, they were dismissed with no explanation. This is, of course, an issue that keeps happening

And we would not know about this issue unless people brought it up here. We'd all be getting silently dismissed in the ticket system. And this isn't an issue of bans not being repealed, mind you. I know mods are arguing that "we're not always going to agree with you", but that is a dishonest answer for this situation. The problem is that mods are not engaging in good faith, they aren't engaging with community concerns, and this forum IS the community. What forum do you think you have without it's users?

But let's put that aside, because the issue here runs deeper.

Lets look at what happened after kayos90 sent in that ticket and was dismissed without explanation.
A member of staff came in here and said that they read their post with a negative interpretation because they "literally threadbanned this user for similar behavior in a previous incarnation of this very thread". Only, that isn't actually what literally happened. They had ZERO history of comparing mods to cops or police. That did not happen. They were, however, threadbanned from the original Community Thread for aggressively arguing against moderation actions... only it was, as pointed out by an ex member of staff, five fucking years ago.

Now, please don't misunderstand me here. I'm not calling B-Dubs or anyone else a liar. Five years is a long time. Hell, that's basically the entire amount of time I've been on this forum! I would not expect any member of staff to remember every detail of every threadban. So I'm not trying to say that their prior ban was being delibertly misinterpreted in order to quell complaints. What I am suggesting is something far more human, which is that people make mistakes. And when called on those mistakes, fixing them is the decent thing to do.

So, while it was done silently and with no apologies or admittance of error, kayos90 was unbanned.

So, what happened here? They were banned because mods read their post with a negative interpertation that was not intended, when they submitted a ticket trying to understand and question the ban they were dismissed without any dialogue, but users here pointed out the mistake the mods were making and pointed out that they were remembering their prior ban incorrectly. It was the dialogue happening here that allowed this to happen. Had it ended at their ticket, or even someone else just submitting a ticket, I do not believe we would have reached this conclusion and kayos90 would not have been unbanned. I said this earlier but if the relationship between mods and users were healthier, there'd be no need for this thread and everything could be done in tickets. But this thread exists because that relationship has been so poor and, as pointed out, we're dealing with the same damn problems as five years ago. There is clear unwillingness to actually improve anything at play here.

Of course, the answer the staff has given is "well we're not always going to agree with your viewpoint". That was the answer given for why they haven't rescinded more bans in the DK thread despite it being pointed out numerous times by numerous people in this thread that there are still posts banned in that thread which the staff have just completely misunderstood. Like this post here, which I have pointed out numerous times is just stating a fact about something the article's author has said and mods have ignored every time. The mods have also ignored the many many posts made by many long time users in this thread the past few weeks trying to legitimately mend this dynamic and talk on even ground. But instead we're told we need to calm down and the thread is locked for a day.

And now, while providing proof that their ticket was dismissed as an example of why doing everything through the tickets and not being allowed to discuss this stuff in this thread is a problem, kayos90 has been threadbanned. Yet we're being ignored for the sake of what people were asking for, when, in 2017? Why are staff so unmovable on this subject. If the current moderation style was a request of the users back then, can the users now not also have the power to make our feelings on moderation known? Can things never change?

I've made a lot of posts in this thread the past week that have gone ignored, including this one, where I asked the following:
"Do you agree that there is an issue here between users and staff that needs to be fixed for this forum to thrive? Do you agree that the issue is at least sometimes on both ends of the dynamic? And is it something you want to actively work on fixing? And finally, are you willing to maybe consider that you've gotten something wrong if literally every user in this thread is saying that you did? Are you willing to work with us at ALL?
If the answer to any of those questions is "no", then please at least say so now. I think we deserve to know if our efforts are wasted here."
At this point I cannot see how the answer is anything but "no" to not only one of those questions, but all of them.

I want to say that I appreciate everyone who has reached out to me the past week to tell me they appreciate my posts in here and my attempts to reach out to staff. I'm not going to name anyone in public who DM'd me but I legitimately appreciate you all. This thread and all of you really helped me to feel like I wasn't crazy for thinking that something here needs to change. But I no longer believe it can or will. I suggested this earlier and people asked me to not excuse myself from this thread because they felt my posts were contributing positively here, but I don't believe they are... I don't believe they can. Not until the staff decide to admit that things need to change for the better... for the users too, not just them.

Now I just return to what misery mired said. That this forum is better if you just accept that you cannot change things and just take what you can get. I did that last year. For my own mental health I requested a threadban from the previous version of this thread. I'm at the point where I'm thinking I might as well do so here too. If there is not to be any legitimate community discussion allowed here, then feel free to threadban me. I will continue to love this forum but I no longer believe the users can ever have any ability to stop this downward spiral. The staff are going to continue to ban people for illegitimate reasons, continue to condescend to us, be rude to us, and talk to us like children when we try and engage with them in good faith over it.

We had HRC. Whatever you think of her, she was uniquely challenged due to decades of smear campaigns.

Plus, her campaign was run badly. Books have been written. No need to repeat it specifically.

Then Biden. Basically he was fluke because Trump messed up Covid badly. But he was way too old. A problem with Dem leadership pipelines.

Kamala wasn't give a chance to refine her message due to Biden's selfishness. Nor was she tested in a primary system. That said, as an political observer she did well given all the structural disadvantages against her—incumbent fatigue worldwide.

I’m quite confused what b dumbs is even talking about with regards to tickets. My most recent account was banned with the only ban reason saying “troll account (permanent)”. I wrote in a ticket asking for clarification on how I was trolling, as I had only been posting fairly earnestly nothing crazy, and I got a one sentence response 

“Nope this ban is staying permanent”. Not even an answer to the question   Is this the amazing ticket system at work?
