What began over undisclosed conflicts of interest at a number of gaming publications, had ballooned into a cultural phenomena and consumer movement for greater ethics in games journalism that touched many areas of life. I should disclose that I was involved with GamerGate as a supporter from 2015-2018 and organized the meetups in Saint Louis. Despite my involvement, I tried to approach this project with an open mind and tried to counter my biases going in.
