Granted I don't know much about this conflict and the history behind it, but when two countries with vastly different levels of powers go to war, I tend to suspect that the more powerful country is the one responsible. Doesn't exactly make sense to smack someone much taller and twice your weight across the face for the fun of it after all.

The tea app suffers huge data breach..spending 5 minutes doing research and it wasn’t a data breach as such, it turns out the creators of the app just uploaded the images to a public firebase storage bucket…

You can simultaneously advocate for the safety of women without suspending all critical faculties.

The red flags on this app were immediately apparent considering:

- the feature set
- the name of the app
- the awful messaging in the marketing materials
- it's extreme lack of accountability and moderation processes
- the overt tech-bro origins
- it's cynical attempt to monetise and commodify existing organic community-based safety initiatives that are more effective

And here we are now with an extremely dangerous privacy breach already - a breach which ironically is affecting women, the very people the app pretends to be protecting.

Some of the hand-waving of the app in this thread - while often good-intentioned - is not becoming of a forum that is usually more rational and even handed.

Some of it was outright performative and bad faith. Seeing people raising reasonable concerns being forced to defend themselves from implications of being red-pilled MRA chuds was quite frustrating.

Some of the arguments were so scarily close to "if you aren't doing anything wrong you have nothing to worry about" arguments used by conservatives to justify police/judicial/government overreach into our liberties

They have been consistent with hating trans people more than any other stance they have.

The episode ended with the PC babies - literal babies that cry at anything bigoted/not empathetic - crying at Macho Man fake identifying as a trans woman. It wasn't taking aim at trans women in sports, but how people can tie themselves in politeness knots not calling out assholish behaviour when they fear it will make others accuse them of being the assholes. It was mocking the idea parroted by transphobes that if you let trans women compete in sports then cis men can just go "I identify as a woman actually" to win medals.

Which isn't to give Matt and Trey a pass for actually awful takes on trans women they've done in the past, such as the entire Miss Garrison thing, which indeed contains some heinous shit, especially the episode where Garrison transitions.

However, I think more recent episodes - including the macho man one - has shown an evolving understanding on their behalf. I understand why people wouldn't give them the benefit of the doubt all the same though.

Same again goes for the situations surrounding anything that they call "woke". PC Principal was sort of when they made their opinions and "side" on such matters loud and clear. They even transformed Cartman into an "SJW" for some time. Because Cartman is always supposed to represent the "worst of the worst" kind of behavior, so actually making him into a woke character makes it clear how they want to frame that sort of thing.

They spoke on the directors commentary about the origin of PC Principal and the joke they were making. They were reading all the nonsense stories about how political correctness was running amok at universities and they thought, "if that was actually the case, what would the logical end point be?" and thus PC frat boys. The joke was at the expense of those saying "woke is taking over universities".

So I've been wondering whether or not I should post this or not. It's been something on my mind ever since I learned about SkillUp; the expectation that I should forgive male YouTubers for their actions, often based on very little because "They've changed!"; despite histories or misogyny, right wing support or being friendly with right wing Influencers, transphobia, homophobia, racism, ableism etc.

I've never liked or felt comfortable with this, especially because their always feels like bit of fan bullying with a lot of it (fans bullying people for bringing up their past actions or not willing to give YouTubers second chances). Like I have been burned WAY too many times to forgive that easily, ignored way too many red warning signs that something was up and they begin openly being misogynistic. Like I ain't forgetting transphobia, sexist remarks about women, constant use of the R word etc because "they've changed" which often just translates to "They've kept quiet for a bit" which isn't change, that's just acting or hoping you'll forget it.

Like I don't know these people or want to know them, I'm not clicking on their videos to see if they've changed (I don't want to risk supporting a chud) just because you tell me to, especially when their are YouTubers without that baggage I can watch. That isn't going to change just because their saying something people like such as what happens with Luke Stephans and Star Citizen a few months back. I don't owe any of these people, especially if they have a history of misogyny, transphobia, right wing support etc; if they want me to believe them, that's on THEM to actually DO something to help and do it sincerely.

It's hard not to notice that it's nearly exclusively men that are expected to be allowed second chances or be easily forgiven, women in turn rarely get this treatment and get hated forever, often for similar or smaller offenses (if that). To end on a more positive note, is their any recommendations for women YouTubers who discuss sexualization in video games and women designs in video games?

That was the first thing I thought when I read the judgement: "she judged with what she had". And that made her side with the status quo.
Imma be honnest, when I came into this thread, I was afraid to voice that.
I'm always afraid of saying my opinion on Era of fear of getting banned.

So the irony here is that your initial post was 100x more likely to get you banned whatever else you hesitated to post. I know this because you've already been reported for "Just saying: the judge is a woman as well..." which is frankly an extremely poor thing to say in a thread like this without making sure ydu are fully articulating your thoughts. That can be read the same as "a woman judged then not guilty of SA so it has to be okay", right? Fortunately you replied to a person who responded negatively before we huddled over the flagged post or it would've been pretty easy to ban on that read.

Don't take this as a call out to discourage you from posting, I'm trying to save yourself and others from needless pain in the future when you had no ill intentions. Too many people get reported then banned for short drive bys in sensitive threads like this, then explain what they really meant in a ban appeal ticket after the fact, when it was avoidable if they put the fleshed-out thoughts from the tickets on the forum instead.
