What I find especially frustrating with the discourse about this is that we are just a few weeks away from the 10th anniversary of the Gamergate bullshit kicking off. There's a direct line from that to the resurrection of fascism that we're dealing with today. The big lesson the right learned there was plausible deniability. I was told multiple times that I should just calm down since they weren't actually sexist freaks, they were actually worried about ethics in game journalism.
