I had a tough experience in school, I was from year 0 to 13 harassed pretty relentlessly without end, my parents did what they could but schools just couldn't protect me man... and by the time I got to high school it got me physically I was sick so frequently that I missed over 40 days of school 2 out pf my 5 years of high school.

Which brings me to that show was my escape, my relaxation, my ticket to a zen space, I would watch to it almost ritualistically in a corner in front of my high school library where I'd sprawl out on that corner at 6:30am hours before school (something I did later even when I had a spare first period) just dozing and letting McMahon’s vocals, Lesnar’s powerbomb, Cena’s suplex and Hogan’s tanktop take me to a place where the intensity of my depression and anxiety couldn't reach... they carried me through high school

And it wasn't just them, I titled this art not specifically WWE for a reason

One of the most powerful moments I've had in my life is meeting Chris Benoit and with tears forming in my eyes and little cry in my voice told him how he helped me survive high school, and the man took my hand, held it, and told me how he understood, and shared with me a story of how another person was helped to keep living by Benoit, then he listed every victim (by full name) he has family annihilated and said it's their story.

And so like do you think anyone in WWE or involved in the TNA and AEW franchises thought fuck we're saving lives, we're helping people, probably not

This is bothering me:

• Eyebrows are different:
  • in game: thin like all their other female characters
    
  • Concept art: more full looking eyebrows
    
• Face shape is different:
  • Concept: rounder/larger forehead, rounder, more prominent cheeks
    
  • In game: literally looks like a face swap with another female character, then, they added tanned skin.
    
• Other:
  • Concept: lips are fuller, eye shape is bigger, and nose is rounder, legs more stockier/slightly muscular. Her hair actually curls towards the end of her bangs.
    
  • In game: thinner lips with different shade of lip gloss, generic cat eye look, and thin nose, generic body like other female characters. Her hair is straightened.
    

I'm beginning to think there is some sort of limitation in their digital workflow that impacts their ability to make unique looking characters. There is no way anyone can look at that concept art and produce whatever the fuck that is as a 3d model and honestly think they did a good job recreating that. No, there is some sort of limitation we aren't aware of that is making this happen over and over again. Her face shape is not even close to the concept art. Her hair isn't even the same color ffs. It looks like they had a decent concept, and then when it went into actual production, they removed all character from her. What is going on here?

SF6 at least has more than one body type.

Yeah, so it's simple: if you still watch WWE after everything, I don't want to speak to you, interact with you, or even see you at all for the remainder of my life. I grew up watching WWE, my friends grew up watching it, for many in Chile wrestling was and is WWE. I no longer watch WWE since a while ago, and my friend group made the same decision this year.

Welp, Community Thread starting to warm up…. UH-gain.

I'm just going to throw my two cents in on this:

I recognize how big and important of a brand WWE is worldwide. And no matter what they do, how awful the people in charge are, they will always have their fans who will continue to watch or support them regardless.

That being said, if the containment thread isn't banned, then I would like to offer a couple of alternative suggestions:

1. Ban any talk or promotion of the WWE 2K games since that goes directly into the pockets of those who have been in league with Trump and the sex trafficking case.

2. Leave the thread open, but make it no longer actionable to criticize WWE or the people who continue to speak glowingly of the company. I think you guys and gals have the same rules set in the South Park thread since they can air episodes that are homophobic/transphobic/racist/etc. If this community wants to ensure having a safe space for marginalized communities, then my thoughts are that we should let them make their feelings known without being moderated (provided that it doesn't go into attacking other users).

I understand that this is a complicated situation, and I appreciate the work y'all do, but to be completely honest it feels wrong to have users in this community waving their metaphorical pom-poms over a company that proudly promotes itself as MAGA and covers for sex trafficking/rape with impunity.

Guys please, open a ticket 🙏

at the risk of repeating myself from some pages ago:

they don't care, literally don't care. It's either "I don't watch it for Vince/HHH politics, I just care about the talent and the storylines" or "they can support whatever they want in their private lives, it's their right, even if I disagree with it! I still like the product and I'm invested" or whatever. They don't care. They know but they don't care because they can "separate the art from the artist" and there's always an excuse. Hell, there's even the situation that merely suggesting an alternative is being "unnecessarily pushy" or descending into "tribalism" and whatnot, because it's either WWE or nothing.

Embiid is certainly not saying "so let's all give up and sit down for a hot, steaming load of WWE". He's saying, you don't need to be like "WWE is bad...but AEW is better than ever!!!" because then it's obvious you care less about girls getting dookie'd on by Vince McMahon, and more about promoting your preferred toy.

It should have been four men and four women, and Capcom are cowards for not putting any of the guys in speedos, especially since every single lady is in a bikini.

It's a step forward from Street Fighter V, when they couldn't be bothered to give any of the men swimsuits, but they're still being too heteronormative and safe.

Obviously a big part of the appeal of fighting games is sexy people in sexy outfits. There's no point in disputing this. And these outfits bring in a lot of cash. But if you want to go hog wild in the sex appeal department then go HOG wild, aka bring on the men in speedos, thongs and fundoshis, and make sure their body physics have the same "enhancements" that the women have. Do it right or don't do it at all, and stop being afraid of the all mighty gay dollar.

No offense Hours Left, but after many years of the same discourse, you may realize that the gay dollar is not as big as you think to justify male speedos. And a “all or nothing” has always been a nice way to people to not care about your opinion.

But yeah, it's not just Era. I worked in tech and the industry was absolutely filthy with adult wrestling fans. Like, even internationally. People spending BIG money to go in person. 

Despite Era's pretensions to the contrary, wrasslin' was always lowbrow, unsophisticated, and "politically regressive" (if you must give it a political bent). And more than that, it is hokey and cringey as fuck. I have long been flabbergasted by how it not only persists in liberal/lefty spaces as well as it has, and has (as far as I can tell) grown its audience a lot since the 90s when I was a kid.

outside of that I don't get it, I don't think there are any special mechanical tuning secrets or feats of engineering like you see in video games like "oh george has adjusted his flywheel and is using an experimental new crankshaft, but can it beat brian's new drivetrain engineered by boeing?!"

The most frustrating part of SFVI for me is that at the start it seemed like they were getting better. Not great mind you, but better. We got some new/different body types, they finally put fucking pants on Cammy, and most of the updated designs looked good without being terribly objectifying. We still had/have things like Cammy having ass jiggle physics, so I really want to stress that "better but not great" part of my statement. But like, since the game launched, they've just managed to completely and totally backslide across the board.

And the worst part is, there is no one to call them out or ask about it. The FGC unfortunate doesn't really have a voice with someone who would point that type of stuff out.
