Nah this is actually me going back to who I am. I'm hitting bars and pubs wearing band shirts thinking, why did I stop doing this. I'm really a "tourist" among the rich people not from a wealthy family. What gives me an edge is that I can do both but I'm way too overdressed for the bars. I need more options for different settings. Some things I've actually dialed down like the traveling, I haven't got the time yet. Changes I have made like hitting the gym have been really well received.

I average about 1 IRL date a week now. Today 8 new likes. Pick up artist strategies are not really my thing but you have to be aware of them because that's what you're competing with. Overall the women all think I'm original, easy to talk to, enjoy hanging out with me for 3 - 6 hours and sometimes we click but for different reasons don't move forward. I've gotten pretty good at filtering out the gold diggers and those just messing about looking to chat making the process to plan dates less time consuming. My preference would be walk/talk/drink, movie/dinner/music or some mutual interest like a museum, zoo or arcade but none want that. Women these days compress the whole thing to 1 date with loaded questions and shit tests and move on to the next guy to see if he is that 1 magical fairy tale date they see on their social media feeds.

Tommorow is the date with 29f if she doesn't cancel. She has been very enthousiastic about the whole thing so far and gave her adress instantly so I expect it'll go ahead.

The car choice is difficult here. Audi A3 is still an option too but there's so many around it doesn't feel unique. The MX5 is quite popular in Europe as a roadtrip car because we lack other options. Another one added to the list is a Honda Civic and some BMW's.

Her character is... awful. She just uses things and is highly judgmental of everything and everyone.
She rides horses but she doesn't want her own horse because she likes the riding part but not the taking care of your horse part.

Her ex lived in an absolute nightmare. The poor guy took her to Jurassic World 'his thing'. First she yelled because she got spooked by something and then she fell asleep.
He completely broke down, cried, yelled etc. that was 'his thing' and she ruined 'the moment'. And well she dumped him after 6 years. She got fired from her job, obviously because she's impossible to work with but she never did a handover. Fuck em.

Some guy tried to date her. He asked for $100. She was like fuck no you're not getting a cent. And as she explained how she was absolutely horrible in every possible situation and I laughed she liked it.

Hugging though? Nope, not the hugging type. At all. Never took her sunglasses off ever. Held a bag in her hand so holding hands was impossible.

So my movie collection? OH GOD NO. But eh, she doesn't have to watch them. In fact we don't even have to live together, we can have my appartment and her house. Not a bad idea Nintex. She would enjoy dining together. Traveling too. Her favorite color black and antracite. modern, sleek. There were some vintage cars on display. Did she like them? No, get rid of the old junk. She approved of my black outfit. I did the Neil thing, just let her talk and talk because she likes to hear herself talk a lot and I honestly enjoy how much of a bitch she is. She had maybe 2 questions for me. 

She walks fast like I do, we walked the beach and the boulevard in 45 minutes flat. She was tired, I rubbed her shoulder to comfort her she nodded approvingly got into her black mercedes and left. I hadn't seen that model up close yet, the hatchback A type. Her dad bought it for her. 

I don't think she has any friends apart from her sister and people that tolerate her. Certainly no groupchat.

I'll leave the ball in her court. For a lot of guys this would be high maintenance, very high maintenance. All I have to do is not care and be flexible, which I'm an expert at. 
She didn't want to get ice cream so I just went ahead and got some for myself after she drove off. Don't know why she liked me on the app, my guess is the ENTJ part. Where the E does not stand for Emotion. 

Who knows she might actually want me to come over when she's bored this week to share more stories about how awful she is rather than swipe a new victim.

You know, I could totally see it happen. She looked at me like: my dad would approve of this guy, he listens well and he never challenges my hate for other people. 

I didn't ask what she thought about it and neither did she because it was obvious that only people like us could 'like' this. 

She had this 45 minute beach walk just after discussing some heavy shit with the family. She said well there is something that weighs heavily on me. I said: "Want to talk about it?".
Turns out her cousin and niece refuse to take care of their sick father (her uncle). That's disloyal. So she had them written out of the will and now she will inherit their part of the family estate. "Serves them right, I took care of my family when it was required". "Absolutely right Nintex" 

But meanwhile her "taking care of family" is driving her parents and uncle to the hospital. "I'm not going to wipe the ass of my father",  "right he has money he can pay people to do that", "Finally a man with common sense"

If she's smart enough to keep me around, we'll get the entire estate

I'll leave the ball in her park for now but I think she might just start messaging tommorow to continue sharing things if I don't break it off.

She's the worst nightmare for all my friends and co-workers though. Someone who has all my worst traits and none of the good ones apart from loyalty. 

She was 30 minutes late because the bridge was open, that happens to me all the time and co-workers complain that I just don't leave earlier. When she texted that and send a picture as 'proof' I knew, oh shit we're going to click. Same with parking, she parked a block away from me too much hassle to find the right spot. I walked in the direction where I assumed she was stranded based on her text "what a fucking mess I'll just park here" and she was exactly at the spot I assumed 'here' was.

If I don't hear anything by tommorow night I'll ask if she wants me to bring over that champagne I owe her and binge some shows on tuesday. She did drop that she prefers to stay home and rather not stay over somewhere else. 

The 10% emotions I have (she's at about 3%, 38F was at 20%) say don't do it. But my 90% logic side thinks we fit together like LEGO blocks and I don't have to worry about what other people think, only what she thinks and if her father would approve. No feelings left for the ex either just 0% she was bragging that she refinanced the house cheaper on her own. Maybe everyone gets a lucky break and she hates the idea of my movie collection enough to call it quits otherwise I think she has no objections to meet again.

I let her do most of the talking this time and kept steering her away from that but it was a challenge.
On my side I kept it very light on the details. "I took care of my folks for a while, it's kind of you know a given you take care of the family".

She talked about that thing with her estate and inheritance and how everyone was after her money, she had a black mercedes sure she could miss $100 the guy argued. And I was like: "so uh, black is kind of your color right is your interior black also?". And then luckily steered her back to her bathroom renovations. Another time she talked about work and getting fired and all that drama and I just asked what she was watching the other day when she texted she was on the sofa with wine. When she pressed on why I rented I simply said I enjoyed living 5 minutes from the beach and didn't want to leave. Overall I handled it pretty well for a dumpster fire but she was certainly thinking steps ahead.

That's why my next move is, binge some shows at her place and not a dinner date or whatever.

I think she also oversold herself a bit in the decision making as the main character and her father called the shots. But if an ENTJ brings that up it's a good sign. And I admit I liked the plot twist rollercoaster family drama that caught me completely off guard.

She liked me said she had a good time. I'll wait and see.

The date was still useful though as a reflection on my own behaviour. I'm not this bad but when I push women to quickly meet to get "results" they probably think that I'll just rush over, stay 30 minutes, listen to myself talk, leave and move on to the next one.

I've done some reflection and taken a few actions (oh god Nintex don't change strategies again) that will hopefully improve the trajectory of my dating (wait what?). I realized that with many dates there was always a hidden agenda on one side or both sides. Shit tests and games to see who could 'win' and ultimately both lost.

So I've cut off a bunch of bullshit chats. I won't reach out to 29f unless she contacts me and I'll focus more on trust, interests and mutual attraction. Hopefully that connects me to people that I actually like that are after the same thing like 38f. Talking it over with my co-workers I gave up on that too soon just when it started to work.

Out of the 5 likes today, I matched the one that enjoys LOTR+games but is tired of the dating app games and is looking for something real. By chance also the cutest. I hope I can make that arcade date happen. So I send her a fun opener that well, I would enjoy watching LOTR and hugs throwing in some references beyond 'I like LOTR' to signal to Arwen that I'm the real deal.

I like gifs partly because they're usually small and can sit inline with other things and don't have audio or maximize on your screen or anything

it feels like there was a period 15 years ago where it was so easy to find a gif of anything you wanted, and they were all labeled senorgif or 4gifs in the corner

over time whatever sites used to host all the gifs have rotted and you can barely find what you want anymore

at some point imgur mass converted many of their old gifs into webms or webps or some dumb video type format with a play button which doesn't embed most places and is harder to send to people in chat apps

the site yarn has somewhat revitalized the gif industry, with all kinds of movie quotes and scenes you can find with a quick google search, I think they're being made automatically somehow?

...except the problem is, somehow every single one of them encompasses the thing you want in the gif, plus like 3 frames from a different shot, so it's jarring and shitty

Had a good chat with my boss about some lingering issues. The team doesn't support me as well as they should and he had some good ideas on how to heal that rift.  

Also chatted with the redhead co-worker. She asked how my weekend was and I told her it was absolute chaos with my worst date of the year and the psychopath. She enjoyed the story and felt bad for me. She had a bit of a rough weekend as well but after that steered it back to the business at hand. It's clear that she still sees me as a friend and nothing more. So clarity and we're both happy with the situation. 

The psycho is next, I prevented his suicide but I'm going to tell him later tonight I can't do more. All he wants now is money. My phone has been buzzing all day with his messages. Overall he just sees other people as problems or ATMs.

For once I'm glad my PT moved the training to tommorow because I'm dead tired. But I succeeded optimizing the profile without realizing it, 8 likes this weekend, 5 likes today. All I need to do is wait for suitable matches like 32f. Hook them with a fun opener, chat a bit, get their number, ask them out for a walk or a drink, keep in touch for a few days and see if we click and we want to continue dating. It works and as long as they show up for the public dates and are interested enough to stick around for a few hours there is no need to 'level up' to skipping the public date.

Old gifs were crafted. Optimized. Finding the balance of cropping, deleting frames, and compression. Or doing so for impact. 

Sometimes I still see gifs I made 10 or 15 years ago being used on random forums or twitter.
