Respectfully, America will almost certainly arrive to a point of civil warfare. Our current social and economic trajectory point directly to violence on some scale, but certainly not small. Save your lectures, because this country has more guns than citizens, and so wanting to defend one's self is a scary thought, particularly for any reasonable person. Confronting those thoughts with mockery and a not-so-firm understanding of the state of the country is unnecessary.

If you haven't been in a situation where survival was your number one priority, maybe don't lecture good intentioned progressives for understanding the environment they're in and considering effective means to aid their survival.

(Also, the second amendment isn't necessarily about an individual preventing a takeover, but many coming together with their arms to provide a means to resist tyranny)

How would a civil war change anything regarding what's he saying? A gun enhances protection from a single assailant, maybe two, but not an armed gang be it cops, federal agency, criminal gang, militia or military.

It's just changing words around though. Forcing them to give up the fantasy of a promised land is forcing them to close shop essentially. I don't think anyone is seriously suggesting that all Israelis be killed or deported out of the landmass, but rather the state of Israel as it exists now cannot exist for the genocide to end.

There's a dark kind of irony that so many here are on multiple thousands a month meanwhile I gotta try find £300 a month extra for a 50% rent increase while both me and my wife are currently disabled and having to fight for the additional support. Israel is a colonial state but it's not majority European like it's been pushed in certain circles. I know Israel uses the Holocaust as an excuse for their own atrocities and many refugees from the Holocaust moved to Israel, but we really need to stop pushing this false narrative. It helps propagate the belief that Jews from around the world are moving to the region en mass and displacing Palestinians. It has fueled tons of antisemitism in many western nations.

But that's literally what happened.

That's 62% from Europe, 16% from Africa, 14% from Asia and 9% from the Americas. This of course isn't counting the over half a million settlers that immigrated to Palestine in the decades before 1948 the vast majority of which were also European. The reason why people say Israel is a majority European state is because it is.

Given how IDF conscription is mandatory, that would mean a huge chunk of Israeli society would be tried for their crimes against humanity. I also think tech giants and weapons providers should be held to account, such as Microsoft's entire leadership who should be sent to the Hague for their direct complicity.

Only once there is justice can the notion of peace be entertained. Anything that preserves the existing power structures will only reward the facism that has beholden Israel and its allies.
